If there is an American who would have let that goal go in, I don’t want him wearing the uniform. That’s a play you have to make. It’s like a defensive back committing defensive holding when he’s beat. Your JOB is to commit the penalty because it’s better than a touchdown.

Suarez’ JOB was to stop that goal by any means necessary. The only criticism I have of him is that he argued with the ref. Take your red and walk off like a man.

If they win without Benzema and Kanye, that tells you exactly how much quality they’re producing right now. If they’d been healthy I would have picked them instead of Brazil. Kind of wish I’d stuck with France right now.

So...if Spain were playing England I shouldn't refer to them as "The Spanish Armada"? I tried!! :notworthy:

@marek should be really embarrassed. Any team knocked out 3-1 in the World Cup R16 is a garbage team with garbage fans.

Feel really bad to hear you say so
Might even keep me up all night tonight

I’ll just have to console myself with the fact that my team was never dead last in any WC

What are you talking about? Was Ryan or any other Ghanaian player were in a similar situation then Suarez and decided to be "fair play" and let the ball go in? I am lost....

Doubt Kanye will play for France.....I think he would team up with Nazi Germany ;).
Kanté was a big loss but the team seems to be doing ok so far w/out him.

Obviously each country is different, and there will be an ever increase cost to hosting the WC. But the insane amount Qatar spent only sets the standard or other countries to do the same. Imagine China or India, or Saudi Arabia, bidding for the WC (SA unlike due to the expanded tournament). How much money will they throw at it (at the expense of something else).

Been a fan of France since 1998. The always seem to have a dynamic style about them and some player or 3 who can really show out.

Of course, if Pogba is removed, I'd like France even better. I just don't like the guy.

Poland has placed 3rd twice in WC that had a 3rd Place game and also had a top scorer in a WC tournament

It's the same damn game as ours was. The minnows struggle to defend counterattacks. And the whales convert them.

    Too early for this claim.

Niw, if Senegal scores, but then forgets to defend and gives up a third, preferably within ten minutes, then it's exactly like ours.

All they did was put a "U" in front of the SA to give us that sunken feeling! :(
