Yes, like I’ve said, I’m not underestimating current Argentina. They seem to have grit and determination. Hope we can beat them.

Oh yeah ... forgot about the Swiss. I have that as a possible upset as well. But I think Portugal has done well against the Swiss lately if I am not mistaken

I wouldn't be surprised if Ronaldo scores his first WC KO round goal though. Too many times Messi and Ronaldo's career mirror each other.

Messi now has 14 goals + 4 assists in 11 games in 2022 for Argentina.

France take the lead. Giroud now surprasses Henry.

Entertaining game. Poland had good chances, but you just know France have many goals in them.

But their defense are not good. Really vulnerable.

France ? Yeah. They are not solid at the back. But there is a high % of chance they outshoot most if not every team they may face.

That was such a typical Dembele heavy touch. Open field and runs straight out of bounds. SMH

    Mbappe...
He waited for the defenders to come near him, basically daring them to stop him, then fired the ball home.
    That was impressive. (imo)

France look really strong for a repeat. Too much firepower up front.

Mbappé is current golden ball. 4 goals and involved in 6 of 8 of France's goals.

I don't want Lewy taking PKs for Barca. I don't know whom, but I have no faith in him.

Rashford and Morata still to play in the round so we'll see if they can catch him.

On the positive side, I picked Mbappe for golden boot in the prediction thread! On the negative side, I had the winner getting only 5 goals and surely Mbappe (and perhaps others too) will surpass that figure.

It feels like Mbappe is almost guaranteed to eventually become the top WC goal scorer of all time barring career-deranging injury. 9 total goals (needs 7 more) going into the quarterfinals of his second World Cup at age 23.

Imagine if that's Neymar jumping like that on that challenge instead of Kane .... :whistling:

Out of all the Round of 16 games, England-Senegal wasn't the one I'd have thought would have a one-sided scoreline.

Starting to think this English team is deceivingly efficient.

Not a very competitive R16 so far through 4 matches.
