Giroud is such a smart attacker. Very sweet goal. As for Poland, I'm glad they showed up to play and had their best half of the tournament. Zielinski has to score there.

Poland came to play and did well. But from several legitimate chances they had, including after France scored, it was a momentary lapse of concentration from Lloris that could have gifted Poland an equalizer they would have deserved from the run of play. To be sure, I am rooting for France. Even with the injuries and missing star players, they are still more like an all-star team than a World Cup squad. But there is one star on that team that can shine so much that you would hate not to see more in the later rounds. Giroud's goal was very nice and well taken but I am obviously talking about Mbappe.
As I predicted Poland played much better football than in their group games but France ultimately too much for them. At least that is the first half. Poland still in his.
For whatever reason France always makes Poland look good. All Poland games I remeber with France were pretty even affairs.
That dribble by Rabiot (?) where he ended up doing a backheel pass to two surprised Polish midfielders pretty much sums up this French performance to me. They look very beatable.
