The Dutch are my other favorite national team so I'm not too upset. US needs to find the answer at striker and 2 new CB's before 2026. We know Arsenal legend Auston Trusty is one, who is the other?

It’s pretty clear that the Dutch game plan was to cede possession and exploit the US defense on the counter-attack. That tactic was executed perfectly to maximum effect. The US inability to track and mark an attacker in the box today is extremely frustrating but easily correctable.

There is clearly a talented young core to build upon to make a deep run in 2026: Turner bears virtually no blame for any goals conceded. Central defense could be improved, and better finishing are imperatives.

The US need to stop this Pulisic/Westbrook shit too. So May attacks were killed in the first half because he was given the ball and since he has tunnel vision, he just went forward to lose possession.

They had way more success in the right side and then looked better when Reyna, a proper dribbler, got on the pitch.

i only watched highlights and so many of the actual threats had reyna involved. maybe they need a coach who actually rates reyna?

and maybe one who'll go all out recruiting balogun.

US should be a desirable job right now. Feels like an upgrade over Berhalter is necessary

Giroud surpasses Henry as France’s all-time goal scorer. Well done Olivier! Especially with all the shit you’ve taken from fans over the years, ourself included.

Some of it warranted. That cold spell he went through when we had a chance to win the title in 2016 was frustrating.

Reyna is rated and I guess we’ll have to wait for the full postmortem, but it seems likely Gio wasn’t ready to go for more than 45 minutes. Hoping he gets his career back in track because for now it seems he might go the way of those Arsenal players who had a bright future but injuries derailed them.

Saka! Gets his 3rd goal, and England's 3rd of this match.

We will t beat France u less they have a meltdown

rice as the line pivot is not the one vs a competent press and I can see dembele killing Shaw and maguire

unless England can hit them in the counter France should win the lot

i mean, giroud's every season with us was the same though:
    1) wenger has someone else he'd rather start and giroud is on the bench.
    2) giroud produces off the bench.
    3) whoever was in front is unavailable/ineffective, giroud starts.
    4) wenger rides giroud like a rented government mule.
    5) giroud is out of gas and is ineffective. giroud goes to the bench.
    6) giroud produces off the bench. because rest is A Thing[tm].
    7) giroud finishes the season doing well.

Kinda funny, for the first time in decades, England have below-par CB options, while their attack and midfield are top five in the world. That defense will get battered by France

Yeah heard about this a few hours ago. Supposedly his family was in the house at the time. These stories are getting much too common. Very troubling trend.

And interesting how the details of this one were made public whereas the ones for Ben White were not.

Also, is it too late for Southgate to make squad replacements? White it seems he's not gonna miss too much, but Sterling? I could imagine him being valuable, especially as 2T or ET sub.

Agreed - borderline elite player - and thus frustrating

unfortunately we went on to replace the Ozil/Giroud/Alexis goal output with worse options :whistling:
