I found myself replying to my own post. I do think if Martinez dropped Hazard during any time in the last three years, Hazard might be a better player now. It is good that the manager stands by his star player, but there is always a limit. For Hazard's point of view, he was guaranteed a place in this team long long time ago.c He probably gave up his career in Madrid long time ago when he realised that he won't start over VJ even if he regained his prime form. His only target would have been Qatar 2022..... and he did not need to work for a place on the team. He was liked Bale, but he did not say it loud: "Belgium, Hamburger and Madrid". He only needed to avoid an injury that would have kept him off the field. In Madrid, it was perfect for him. He did not have to do anything because this team was loaded with talents. If he went to Aston Villa or Getafe, he might have to play and risk an injury. Of course, he got paid well here while winning a CL medal. I have no problem with Deschamps taking Varane who was injured. I had some issue with the USMNT not taking Hugo Perez who was the best American player at the time to Italia 1990 or Japan dropping Kazo Miura who was Japan's greatest player at that point for France 1998. I believe in loyalty, but there is always a limit. Seriously, if Hazard at any point felt that his WC spot was in jeopardy, he would have tried harder. As I said earlier, Hazard has been bad for three or more years. That was a long time for Martinez to keep his loyalty. Now, Hazard can retire.
He earned himself the right to be paid that kind of money with his career prior to move to Real Madrid. He didn’t set his own price tag did he? 100m was paid by Perez, wages were decided by both of them. A random nobody sitting behind a computer screen and bashing Eden can’t do that.
Don't take it personally. When I said you could identify with Hazard because you're possibly like him... wasn't meant to insult. He is only employed because we are locked into a bad contract and I'm not frothing at anything. I don't care to explain to you my professional past but the fact you think everyone online has to be poor, fat and unattractive says more about you than anyone else.
I just don't want Hazard on the team. He might be a wonderful person, father and caring friend. But I just don't want him on the team.
🚨🚨🌕| JUST IN: Eden Hazard considering retirement from International football. @MarioCortegana— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) December 2, 2022 Here you go y’all be happy!
Deleted the nonsense. Really would love to close this thread overall but sadly we’ll have to wait until he is no longer a Madrid player. Or maybe not. Let’s not get into personal stuff y’all, ain’t gonna end well. Before you know it we’ll have people posting shots in their undies to prove they aren’t fat.
Hazard is not fat, but he's a depth player at this point and nothing more. I'd like to have him for a low salary to play occasionally against minnows at home, or in the Copa. He's a good player to have for that purpose. But since that low salary is a pipe dream, and the depth spot could be filled by Arribas or some other youngster (Julen Guerrero or Bruno Iglesias), hopefully we manage to give him for free to a Chinese club this summer under the condition we don't have to pay anything for the rest of the year.
Yeah, find a way to get him out and add a player that can at least contribute in some way on the pitch for us. Just seems impossible right now.
Here's something people didn't consider and absolutely did damage. Hazard should have skipped the last tournament. The Euro was a disaster. Step away, hire a trainer and a nutritionist in cooperation with the club, take him along on your vacation like others do and come back better than ever. Instead another tournament, another delayed start to the season, more missed time, more missed opportunities. I get the responsibility as a star, but clearly it was the final chance. Vinicius took off that season and won the competition for a spot for good.
And they keep believing that nutritionists and 'moar passion' would have transformed Hazard, despite the fact that the man's legs are gone. Jesus
