Money line has Korea beating Brazil at +1100
The only matchup with a bigger underdog is Australia at +1400

Been part of this forum since 2008, there’s been ups and downs, but this time around, we did it.

So is this the part of the Forum where I have to congratulate the South Korean fans?

Anyway, next time warn us if we have to face you in Asia on a year finished on 2 from 20 to 20 years on a World Cup, we are getting tired of being beaten by South Korea.

This time we cannot use the excuse of referees or red cards. Oh well, maybe it was the shitty Santos rotations.

Anyway it was heartbreaking for Uruguay but at the same time I am happy for Bento, he was our previous National Team coach and was badly treated by the media and fans after 2014 in Brazil but in Euro 2012 we actually played good football with him, and at the time Portugal didn’t had the quantity of good players it has now.

Anyway this is about South Korea, and I did noticed a curious fact, on the 2019 under 20 WC we were on the same group stage, we beat you guys 1:0 having played with Diogo Costa, Dalot and others, but in the end we got knocked out and your team reached the final against Ukraine.

Think your best player was Lee Kang In from Valencia at the time wasn’t it?

Anyway without poisoning the atmosphere I guess it must have been good to reach the same stage as Japan, Brazil will be a problem but enjoy it.

I suppose Asian specialist from the Forum @Iranian Monitor has already congratulated South Korea for this one and will unequivocally accept South Korea this days is ahead of Iran?

I will finish this saying Japan has the best players overall in Asia and Hidemasa Morita is the best midfielder in the world because he plays for a certain Portuguese club.

    Congratulations!

I hope bento will stay for another 4 yrs. His brand of football really suits us. Also, is KYG alright? He got subbed off due to injury.

Don’t worry, no one in Portugal is upset with Bento, of course reaction would have been different if we weren’t qualified yet.

He did deserved this outcome because he left the country almost treated as a National disgrace after 2014, not that he didn’t made mistakes, but he didn’t had the quantity of players Santos has to choose in 2022.

And it was taken with some pleasure by Portugal fans and media that unlike Queiroz everytime he spoke previously about our group he always said he wanted Korea to qualify but he didn’t wanted to eliminate us neither did he spoke about us with the sentiment of revenge.

Unlike a certain Portuguese named Queiroz with Iran that in 2018 was completely bitter against our Federation.

Must be said Bento was playing on our 11 in 2002 on a certain game we got eliminated, it was his last game for Portugal and it was a tragic end for a special generation we had whose peak was reached on Euro 2000.

Must have been a game with special emotions and memories for him regarding South Korea and Portugal and no one cried at the end.

Well, maybe some Korean fans, and it’s better on a couple of months to not travel to Uruguay if you are from Portugal, some of them aren’t happy with our performance today.

But it’s football, Brazil will be extremely hard, and of course we don’t want to play South Korea on a WC played in Asia, fed up with losing.

Agree. This front 4 of CGS, SHM, HHC, and LKI/LJS could be good.

Thank you and good luck in the round of 16!
I daresay you guys have an easier road ahead. ;)

You guys didn't have to play us so tough with the first spot locked up towards the end! :p
It was an agonizing game to watch as a Korea fan.

Yea Lee Kang In won the Golden Ball in that tournament. I remember that Portugal game. Only game we lost besides the final...

    (thumbs up)

yeah, I have kids too and have been more of a lurker but it's nice to see old posters now that we're going to r16 in 12 years and then when we were beat by Suarez and company of all people! It was like double karma for us and Ghana!

LOL I didn't expect you to say something. I figured all the older guys that used to post here just got busy with their lives and left so I was just poking fun.
