Investigations can take a long time sometimes. I can't wait for us to break a rule at least we'd have some excitement around this team lmao
In 2019, the Quakes finished in 8th place in the western conference, one spot from playoff qualification. The Galaxy qualified for the playoffs in 5th place. Had the Galaxy had their season nullified in a timely fashion, the Quakes would have qualified for the playoffs.
I have committed to jumping back in on season tickets, once they win their next playoff game. I need to feel like they’re at least trying first.
Prediction for tomorrow, US vs. Netherlands: 1-1, don’t know what would happen in penalties. - total crap shoot.
We know there is no way to be relegated and of course there will be no points deducted from the Gals..... In Brief: MLS sanctions LA Galaxy over 2019 Pavon deal by Soccer America , 4 hours ago Major League Soccer announced sanctions imposed on the LA Galaxy for violating salary budget and roster guidelines during the 2019 season. The violations involved undisclosed agreements and payments that resulted in the improper classification of Argentine Cristian Pavon as a TAM player instead of Designated Player. The sanctions for the Galaxy include ... • $1 million fine. • $1 million loss of available future GAM. • Ban on incoming transfers for 2023 secondary (summer) window. In addition ... • LA Galaxy president Chris Klein has been suspended from any sporting-related responsibilities through the conclusion of the 2023 secondary (summer) window. Head coach Greg Vanney will serve as sporting director and will report directly to AEG President and CEO Dan Beckerman. • Former general manager Dennis te Kloese (now with Feyenoord) will be required to submit an application with MLS's Office of the Commissioner should he wish to secure employment with any MLS club.
Pretty much a slap on the wrist. This will only encourage further cheating, and not only by the Galaxy.
Remember the lifetime bans on the cheating Chicago Black Sox a century ago? When commissioners were men and not ass-lickers.
Well I missed on the score, but was right about a couple of things I've been saying: 1) Dest, the right back, is our best attacking player, sadly, but he's really good at taking players on, and he's able to unbalance the defense. We should have had him do it more. The oh so clever passes into traffic that never work are not a good tack. 2) We don't have a forward that can play. Ferreira was ineffective, Haji Wright terrible again - that titanium touch on that sure goal when he tried to round the keeper :smh. He did score but it was an accident - he knew nothing about it. 3) We need someone who can hit a corner kick. Pulisic's are lousy - lollipop balls - just not the right trajectory / weight. No one will score on those. Greg is wringing his hands on why we don't score on corners. It's no mystery, Greg. The service is bad. Finally, Netherlands, the land of "Total Football", played bunker and counter and won. We tried to play "Total Football" and lost. In the end I might as well been watching a Quakes game. We have a lot of the ball, a lot of the possession, but can't get the final ball, or a finish, no one makes a play and we get picked apart on a couple of counters.
Good analysis. Might have been 1-1 but for the atrocious ball-watching on defense. I blame Chris Leitch!
Another reason it was like watching the Quakes - the ball watching and guys not picking up runners. Landon said it at halftime ("Watch your runners!!!".
where is that guy? he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, completely. did we ever get his take on what went wrong this year and what he intends to do about it?
Oh My. Wasn't Miami's punishment much more severe? How the league has changed. Galaxy actually being reprimanded for breaking the rules. Who'd a thought.
