Complacency is the mother of all eff ups.

But I'm quite sure this group and the coaches are not like that and will be taking this game as if they were playing France.

meh. What's he supposed to say. I don't feel anything towards the Australians, seem like a nice team and players. But come Saturday, I will feel the same passion I do against any other team. This is the KNOCKOUT STAGE!

This is the way. The only trouble is how to position that 4 man midfield without them occupying the same space.

I don't understand how Scaloni could continue to play Enzo so deep in midfield like in the beginning of the Poland game, when we all see how dangerous Enzo can be in advanced-left positions near the box. After Paredes came on, Enzo pushed up a bit on the left and created that 2nd goal. Let's hope we start the game like this.

I really don't see Di Maria starting if he has any type of soreness. If necessary, he can come on later.

It will also be interesting to see if Scaloni rotates some players based on only 2 full days rest.

Or instead of the lineup above with 4 midfielders, would Scaloni be crazy to start the same 11 as Poland except Dybala for Di Maria??!! I would love to see this, but now is not the time to experiment.

Do we have any players on the verge of suspension if they pick up a card vs. Australia? Or is it a clean slate for knockouts?

I'd rather have A Correa replacing ADM.

They carry over all the way to the quarters. So, if Acuña gets a yellow in the R16, he’ll be suspended for the QF’s, if he gets it in the quarters, he’ll miss the semis. Montiel is also in danger.

What’s the saying? Death, taxes, and a Di Maria WC injury?

I will be lying if I said I wasn't cussing at the tv for every cross he sent. He has been the most frustrating player for me even thought he didn't necessarily play bad ( didn't lose the ball much wasn't turnover machine)

Edul says Angel Correa and Papu Gomes are the options Scaloni thinks as replacement. No problem with Correa, but please no papu.

Enzo and Julian have had a nice connection. Cuti/Lich and Ota as well. Dybala and the bench as well.

I really like Messi's passes to Acuna that he used to give to Alba all the time. Acuna needs to be more ready and just go an extra pass as I don't see him controlling and finishing those chances.

They're not even bad. Rank is 27.
    England v Senegal ranked 30.
    Brazil v S. Korea ranked 26.
    France v Poland ranked 22.

I'd argue that he should have been rested against Poland. We're lucky that it's against Australia that he will miss rather than another team. Not cause they are easy, but because he's less effective against closed sides.

Pretty sure Julian will start. Was a big move to play him against Poland. Scaloni must see something in training. Plus Julian played well and scored a golazo so his confidence must be high. Important for a striker. Tactically, Australia will offer nothing differently from Poland so no reason for Scaloni not to choose Julian again.

I'd argue ADM should have been a super sub since the beginning until we play a team that will attack us. Like Copa America.

Haha yeah well I gave up on that. Scaloni doesn't seem to trust any of the other guys like he did with Nico.

Regarding the bold part, I think Australia will not leave their main striker as isolated as Poland did with Lewandowski. We should therefore prepare our players to tackle more counter attacks from Australia than what we had from Poland.
