IMO the best soccer game hands down was Winning Eleven before they changed their name to Pro Evolution Sports.

I hope more people call for this piece of shit's head. 2022 has to be one of the worst if not worst year for the Mexican national teams with all the failures he should of had some dignity and resigned. But a rat doesn't have honor.

I wouldn't mind him handling training on set pieces. I recall Mexico defending set pieces well when he was in charge...

I don’t want any of our previous coaches back. They were all mediocre at best. Let’s try someone fresh. The result might end up being the same but there’s a chance…

Cause he had CBs at LB and RB to add height to the team. Same shit I would do on FIFA lol

Let’s be honest…. We’ve never done too great with serious-type managers. When Mexicans are away from club duty it’s officially vacation for several of these guys.

I’d take hype-man Piojo over a lot of these more serious technical figures just for the sake of making the guys feel good.

Very true. The more I think about it the more we need a players coach/motivator.

Tacticians and disciplinarians don't work at the NT level because our talent pool is usually not deep enough to offer them the tactical versatility they desire. Not a problem at the club level because clubs can go out and buy the ideal player that fits a coaches desired scheme, but at the NT level what we have to work with is what we have. Also, the tactician coaches are usually the ones that end up alienating players or leaving better players at home because they don't fit a system.

If you look at the last couple of World Cups for Mexico, 2014 seemed like a WC where the players were genuinely happy and celebrated like crazy with Piojo after their goals. I'm not saying that Piojo is the guy, but we need someone who the players love and respect and who at the same time has the players backs. Players will run through brick walls for those type of coaches.

100%. I hate throwing generalizations but for the most part Mexicans operate on high emotions/feelings. When spirits are high, Mexico typically plays intensely. It seems most highly technical managers have caused some sort of strange vibes within the team, causing our team to look really unnatural when on the field. When we’re on a good one and everyone’s gelling—I get “joga bonito” vibes.

I used to be one of those guys wanting some super technical all star manager—at this point in time, I just want someone who’ll bring positive vibes to the team and give our players the confidence they need, feel comfortable and allows them to do what they do best. It’s a mental game with our players.

For a manager, at this point, i’d take a ”meh” strategist with very positive emotional display over an above average strategist with an intense/serious demeanor. Someone who displays both extreme positivity and is a great strategist would be hitting the jackpot.

I dunno, I wouldn't dismiss a strategist so fast, specially since one big glaring problem we've had in each cycle since, at least Chepo, has been that each team in the area has figured how to nullify each system and the coaches, sans maybe Osorio, just don't adjust. It happened to Chepo, it happened to Piojo and to Tata. Plus, a team with limited resources such as ours, needs to adjust more often than, say a France or Brazil.

Plus, wanna know what can emotionally sap a player real quick? Leaving him/her on positions where they cannot succeed, specially against lesser rivals.
