I am not a heavy metal fan, but I used to subscribe to Howler Magazine. The current owner is trying to revive the publication online, and one of the crazy things he is doing for WC 2022 is to post 4 videos from the Howler heavy metal band "Group of Death".

Video 1 - Black World Cup Winter
Video 2 - The Cup is not Coming Home
Video 3 - Field of Screams (this one is very disrespectful to the migrant workers)
    Video 4 - coming out tomorrow Dec-2-2022

That ball most certainly did go over the line.

In your photo, part of the ball is hovering over the line.

The Music City Miracle involved an illegal forward pass! And Brett Hull's foot was in the crease!

Corrupt officiating is a world-wide problem.

It's not from that angle. I think the point is that it's too hard to tell so VAR couldn't over turn the on field decision.

You are wrong, my friend. A tiny bit of the ball is still touching/over a tiny bit of the line. It is in…

It was definitely over the line.
VAR has been very weird in this WC. I don't mind in this case, cause it's great to see a team like Japan that just goes for it (as opposed to poland). But if this happened, it's starts to make you wonder about the whole corrupt fifa talk.
Things are in the "works" for a certain final it seems.

No it wasn't. That last photo proves nothing. The ball is round, only a small part of it is touching the ground, so a view from that perspective is going to show grass between where the ball is touching the ground and the line. The view from above clearly shows it was still barely on the line.

It looks like the angle of the camera is to the left of the line so it's not possible from the photo to r
If anything, FIFA will cater to Spain. This conspiracy theory is all flat earth.

ES, I don't care one way or the other. But damn, if the picture that Scott is showing us tells you otherwise then ok. We see what we want I guess. THAT pic clearly shows the ball past the line, and in TV it looked the same.
I've read Fifa corrupt by Thomas kistner and it basically outlines that this WC will be won by messi/Argentina.
Now and l'm not bitching by any means( I'm argentinian:)) but they've already gifted messi 2 penalties. Against the Saudis and Poland. Very soft calls. We were headed to face France. Now we play Australia. With USA next after hopefully beating Holland. Brazil will be our only real tough game before the finals... Now many things can happen and have happened already in this WC. Germany, Belgium out crazy. Japan winning their group.
Anyways, being from S. America you see so many crazy things happen over time, that after a while you start thinking that just maybe some things are by design.
    Just saying....

Yeah, and they would cater to them too. But at the time of the goal I think Spain was at risk as well.

While I am happy for Japan, I would have been really really happy if GER and JPN had both advanced.

Plus, i feel like Spain and Poland did not really deserve to advance. Except for the GER-SPN game, Spain was not that interesting.

2 of the top 3 leagues in the world are Spain and Germany, and they wield enormous influence over FIFA. Germany didn't do well enough and they aren't going through. Spain almost failed.

I generally don't believe in conspiracy theories as the easiest answer is usually the right answer. That ball was too close to call in real time; I haven't seen an angle where the Assistant Ref was, but I doubt they were close to the line. The Center Ref wasn't in position to call it either. They made the right decision to not call it out.

Based on every angle I've seen, there is no conclusive evidence it was out. The VAR has been pretty darn accurate all tournament, so based on all of that data it looks to me like they got this one right too.

No conspiracy to see here. If that doesn't work for you feel free to watch this video.

It isn’t really VAR in those cases. Rather it’s goal-line technology - based on sensor chips in the ball and precisely located along the lines…

It will be interesting to see how SAOT changes the game going forward. Who needs referees at all? AI will make all the calls, and the referees's biggest job will be scolding players who aren't playing nice.
