It's up to Hummels and Reus to show their leadership and pick the German BVB players up who were selected for the NT from an embarrassing World Cup exit.
Moukoko and Brandt barely played. It's quality we need and to stop putting squarre pegs in round holes. Sadly its going to be a real fight to even make top. I think at best we have the fourth best squad in Germany
The only BVB players who saw any minutes were Süle, Schlotterbeck and Brandt. Adeyemi and Moukoko didn't play at all.
He hasn't really impressed me since I watched him with Barça. In this WC, at DM I'm liking Enzo Fernandez (probably too expensive for us by now) and Amrabat from Morocco.
Enzo Fernandez is now impossible and too expensive. I will keep my eye on Amrabat especially when Spain play Morocco.
One of the players that I liked from this USA team was actually Haji Wright, seemed to changed their attacking play quite a bit. Players like Locatelli and Neves are unrealistic, lets face it.
We must make the most out of Jude Bellingham in the second half of the season. I don't think we'll manage to hold on to him past this summer.
Locatelli is not unrealistic and even Neves might possible depending on who comes in for him. Juventus are likely to have financial problems or restrictions again. He is definitely leaving in the summer, but the positive is his sale will give us enough money to fund a rebuild. If we can get rid of some of the deadwood then we will have an impressive war chest. Gundogan- free Mudryk - 40 million Dest - unsure how much he is Locatelli/Bissouma- 35 million. Plus money saved for a Wirzt approach Is a perfect summer and very doable. We will probably sell Belling for around 120 million Euros, which easily covers the rebuild.
the problem is that "he is definitely leaving" usually translates into getting less than his market value.
Not really. This is only the case when the player has a limited time left on his contract or a minium release fee. We got a very good price for Dembele, Pulisic and Auba really.
Good point. Although for Dembele we were dealing with idiots in charge of Barça. But I'm thinking Sancho and Haaland.
BRING SANCHO BACK !!! Apparently he wants out, if the price is circa 42.5 mil euros. problem solved, I don't fancy Adeyemi, okay move on Hazard. I don't know how u fit him, but I'm sure you can find a way. 5 year contract, 1 year extension. Its funny, so many players move on to greener pastures but never find that family feel that Dortmund has. Too many people cashing benjamins... my daddy has oil wells b!tches !!
Nah he is doing well in Paris. Not going to happen. Not for me either. He chose to leave. He made his choice. I would much rather get Mudryk for 40 million, which we can do with money from sales.
Besides, players who return for a second spell in the club don't do well. The only notable exception is Mats Hummels.
Mudryk goes for a lot more than 40 mil Euros, from what they have said, they are looking for 70 mil +. The thing is Sancho is still 23, and so will still be able to reclaim the form he showed. He is a known quantity, a rather good one.
I would be all for Sancho if that opportunity comes. We need that type of player. I can see why players who come back from 'bigger' clubs can be affected mentally. But I would also weight in their personality and mental strength. I think sancho is on the good side of that.
We've had a very bad history taking back players that have failed and it sends a bad message to the team. I don't want Sancho back.
This seems unlikely. Mudryk will be playing in Ukraine whilst Shaktar continue to lose money. They will probably happily take 45 million pounds at worst and we have the money.
Again, I'd look at it case by case. Is the player still hungry? Is there still a lot to play for or is this his taking it easy last job before retirement? Is he strong enough mentally to take a perceived downgrade? And lower pay? For example, for Gotze all the signs were bad, and that's why I didn't want him. For Sancho, who I think is hungry, still young and plays and enjoyable brand of football, all the signs are good (if the question is ever actually asked.)
Sancho is a pipe dream and isnt coming back nor is Pulisic.. Sell Bellingham and keep the status quo of buying young ready to be stars to be sold for parts later..
This is a terrible idea. We need to change our model and urgently. We probably could get Pulisic back and possibly even Sancho, but bringing back these past players won't help us. We need to be looking forward. 1st priority is to get Moukoko signed. Then go all out for Mudryk. He is definitely to move to a big club and he will come here. Then finally sort out our 6 with a ball playing defensive midfielder. Bring back Gundogan. Add another left back and go for Dest. Bring back Knauff. Finally put money aside to go big for Wrizt. I am hearing Sevilla are interested in Malen. Get rid of Thorgan, Can, Meunier, Schulz which should free up a lot of wages. Amrabat as mentioned here looks very good and the kind of player we need.
US coach Berhalter was talking about having such severe problems with a player that they thought about throwing him out for not fulfilling on and off the pitch expectations. Rumors are now that it was Reyna and that the conflict was resolved after talking it through and an apology. If he grows, I'm fine with that and good for an environment that confronted him with it. Seems to have been an attitude and lack of engagement problem that didn't only annoy the coach but also the rest of the team. And just hearing that description makes me believe it.
