Ignoring the cost, who would you rather have?

He is done. Can't see how he recovers from this to be able to play even average level at any half decent club..

Dumb correlation between punditry and coaching.

Agree - it reads pretty badly.

The point it is (badly) trying to make is for example it was said when Henry failed as coach at Monaco, that he was particularly poor at communicating on footballing matters with the players.

Wouldnt be the first top skilful player who can better walk-the-walk rather than talk-the-talk :)

Now if he had said that, I would have given more thought to the post. It could be a dubious decision given the Monaco experience you cited. But not dubious because he arguably didn't do well in punditry.

    Thanks for clarifying.

Belgium were never going to win. I always saw their golden generation as good but not superior to bigger teams. Martinet did about just right except for this world cup. Too many old players a frustrated KdB said. He would have preferred a Doku or a Trossard to start. Maybe Origi.

Something wasnt right about that group of players, not a happy camp - suspect we will hear more over time.

A point was made in commentary about how they would go long periods without KdB getting a pass and contrasting that to how he is used as an outlet for City.

Their FIFA ranking of 2nd was over-generous for sure, but still a big underperformance in that group.

A goal for Costa Rica would see both Spain and Germany knocked out...

Spain are incredibly boring to watch. All possession with no end game.

Rankins are down to eight right now.

Well Germany disappoints and are on their way home.

I think Japan might just have too much intensity and energy that Croatia will not be able to match so Croatia drops off and Japan is in the running.

Morocco will give Spain all they can handle but for now I think they will come up short. We'll think about it some more and revisit this later.

Ghana won the penalty but Ayew passed straight to keeper, such a pu*** attempt.
