And to support this, I have heard a couple vits of analysis saying that experts say this means the jury system work as well as neither side being surprised at the verticts.

For whatever reason, nobody's identified the US yet the way the world did 1940s Germany after the Allies arrived. That's probably why the Germans have less tolerance for crazy shit than the US, where anything goes.

If the world ever becomes as vigilant as it was back then, maybe it'll happen.

"Federal prosecutors said the group is alleged to have believed in a “conglomerate of conspiracy theories consisting of narratives from the so-called Reich Citizens as well as QAnon ideology. ” Adherents of the Reich Citizens movement reject Germany’s postwar constitution and have called for bringing down the government, while QAnon is a global conspiracy theory with roots in the United States."

Every American, supporting or by liking the US conspiracy mongers should without an exception be put on the EU terrorist list.

I don't think they can be-- wasn't that the decision in Powell v. McCormack? "duly elected?"

If 2/3 of Congress agrees, they're removed. And can be barred from office under the 14th.

    It's not going to happen.

What's interesting is that the response from the audience seemed lukewarm and unenthusiastic. Maybe her brand of over the top bullshit is on its way out even in conservative circles?

Or maybe they were all hungover from those coke-fueled orgies Cawthorn was talking about.

DOJ defenders: Jack Smith subpoenas Raffensberger
Me: wait…the guy in the other end of the phone with trump? You’re just subpoenaing him now? That call was two years ago.

oh….and I sure as shit hope the Fulton county prosecutor (forget her name) hasn’t agreed to let the DOJ have trump and only focus on the Georgia gop counterparts. Trump can’t be pardoned in GA before completing his sentence. The next Republican president will pardon trump on day 1 in office for anything the DOJ convicts him of related to the election (the stolen documents case is another matter that will make the costs of pardoning trump politically difficult

They have this call on tape right?

This sounds like a last step before dropping charges and moving to trial

I believe 2/3 of Congress agreed in Powell and the court said "No, you must seat him, he's duly elected."

I was way busy trying to pass Chemistry and French in the same year, so I didn't follow the case past the headlines, but I think that was how it went. Powell was unseated, sued, ran in the special election to replace himself for the remaining scrap of his term and won by an absurd margin, did not attempt to serve in order to pursue the suit, ran again in what would have been his reelection campaign, won comfortably, and then won in the Supreme Court as well.

If anyone's been expelled from Congress since I'm not remembering it.

And the court would have to agree on the definition of "insurrection or rebellion against the [Constitution]" for the 14th to work here. I'm not sure the Warren Court would have agreed that 1/6 rose to the level of 1861, let alone this court.
