I had some on Iran, really thought they would be a bit braver in the first half after the impressive Welsh game. I was expecting some drama and nearly got it with a last second scare with a pen appeal. Overall, very comfortable for the US on the night and MLS gains a position on Falvo's spreadsheet.
I figured Iran were content with the draw. It was either going to be a 0-0 draw with US being unable to break them down or 1-0 and us holding on. Need Denmark to beat the aussies and the Tunisia-France game to end in a draw and I’ll make a pretty penny.
Iran are terrible I was shocked that fifa didn't award a pk. Have to have atleast one state sponsor of terror advance. If anyone actually cheers for scumbags like Iran then there is something truly wrong with them. They were trying to play the moral high ground against the US of ********ing A
An embarrassing world cup, hosted by a terrorist nation. If this ball is ruled out Germany would be moving on to the Round of 16 😱 pic.twitter.com/PcceKn0AIW— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) December 1, 2022 Thoughts? 👀 pic.twitter.com/cmYlknN8Co— SPORTbible (@sportbible) December 1, 2022
I guess it helps to be a major non-nato ally to host such events https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/biden-designates-qatar-major-non-nato-ally-us-2022-03-10/
The straight angle from above clearly shows it isn't over the line. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't know the rules and will think it is out. The entire sphere has to be out, not just the part touching the ground.
We all know the rules, that unfortunate part is not needed. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fi6xQjqWIEgCJ4m?format=jpg&name=medium At least for me, it looks like the entire sphere is out. The only thing is if this image is photoshopped then that's a different discussion.
The finest of margins that sent Japan to the knockout rounds and eliminated Germany on the final day of the group stage pic.twitter.com/3MSVlvp4hD— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) December 1, 2022
Some big teams lost so now it is a sham? Think about this: since Euro 2016 Germany have been behind in every single tournament game they have played. They are a mess. Belgium are boring and overrated as well and I'm glad they're going home.
Well, the rule is the ball has to exit with its full volume and from most of those screenshots the goal looks legit. But even if it wasn't, Germany can kiss my ass on their way home, if they were there to play football insted of doing politics, maybe they would've won. Hipocricy shouldn't pay, and that's that,
Seems odd that people ignore the fact that the ball is round. Looks like the edge of the ball is still on the line to me even in the most angled photos.
Traditionally, that ball would have been called out as the view was always just taken from the ground contact. Good to see Japan go through. Spain were quite content with the result..Had a few chances near the end to make it look like they made an attempt but knocking Germany out was calculated as the half went on. Good enough for Germany. 😂😂pic.twitter.com/5gaBWYFNKE— Troll Football (@TrollFootball) December 1, 2022
