Guess ill keep posting cause you guys are like e-buddies after many years lol

Im half heartedly rooting for USA. Sound off and just doing some work. Qatar nos hizo la de Honduras and really couldnt steal a single point from anyone. This is the second time we gain 4 points and still end up out.

In hindsight I almost wish we would've lost the Holland game and came out hungrier for this one. The notion of tying being enough may have actually added pressure instead of relieved them.

I was thinking just this about Porozo. That guy is screaming to be a consistent part of the squad. Fights every ball and is usually in a good position.

This one will sting the young guys for a while, but they don't owe us anything.

The wins wouldn't feel so good, if the losses didn't feel this bad boys. Chin up, we weren't even supposed to be here. This team has faced adversity at every single turn. Even after qualifying esos muertos de hambre (federaciones de futbol) del norte del continente wanted us out at all costs. Colombia, Chile, and Peru were dying to be part of this party.

These kids gave their all and with a little bit of luck we could have grabbed the spot, with sh!t ty referee calls included, sad to see them display their disappointment,I feel them.we have the base for our next WC now we need a coach that will level us up higher.

I even saw an Enner interview where he's still crying and couldnt say more than two lines. This is good hurt, will help callous their mind and strive for more. AND it shows us how much they truly care about the NT.

Well said! And honestly those countries need to worry about their own teams than ours. Ours has the base and stability already. We just lacked experience.

I would honestly switch to a 3 man defense to include Porozo because it adds another layer of defense and more freedom for our Pervis and Preciado.

That's the thing too. Even with calls going against our way we put a hell of a fight. I'm excited to see how we do in the Copa America now.

    ^^

I was surprised to see us play with a 3 man defense.

I don’t recall ever seeing a coach switching formations during a game.

It worked since Porozo is a freaking tank. Good luck getting past a guy who's tall and fast.

But we definitely need a winger for the left side who can make runs and open space for Pervis.

Hindsight is 20/20 but in retrospect Porozo and Cifuentes should have started. I think Alfaro went with Gruezo because he's a defensive midfielder by trade. Cifu is more of an attacking mid. With three CBs perhaps Alfaro would have felt more comfortable leaving Gruezo on the bench. Porozo is a unit. He's probably the only guy on the squad that can physically go to toe with anyone. With three CBs the team could have covered Pervis' and Preciado's backs better. It's also hard to beat Porozo in the aerial duels. Who knows maybe he could have cleared the ball in Senegal's second goal.

That pk call was definitely a pk and it looks very similar to how Holanda score, through the left of the defense…kinda how Peru tied that game that we should have won. There’s always a big hole in there. I can’t blame Hincapié for trying to “fix” it. Priority is to find a left back if the Byron issue is not solved.

7:10pm here in NYC and I'm still tearing up over this loss. They played their hearts out and seeing them young and cry just breaks my heart. Hopefully they put on a show for the 2026 qualifiers

Torres looked lost out there today. Hincapie covered his side on numerous occasions. Torres has to make the move to a more competitive league. If he doesn't then his career is gonna stagnate. He'll be a solid player but a limited one. To me Porozo and Hincapie are the future in defense. Pacho and Ordoñez are also players that will have to be integrated into the squad. RB and striker are the positions that are of most concern to me. I can't think of a young kid coming up that has the potential to make in Europe.

They're starting earlier than usual. I remember they would start the September or October of the following year after a WC.

Probably to not make them as grueling by spreading out the dates? Our eliminatorias are intense and I don’t understand why we want to murder each other.

There is a larger pool going into the next world cup....48 teams.

As a result, I think the games need to be added to fit all the extra friendlies plus the 1 month of training/concentracion before the next WC.

Cesar Farias x Sixto Vizuete was over kill for Aucas. It would be interesting to see we need a coach who can take advantage of playing In altitude that would be huge for Copa America and the following WCQ.

Guillermo Almada is the man for the job. I think he has a clause in his contract that he can terminate the contract if he's offered the Ecuadorian job. I could be mistaken but I think I read that somewhere.

The base of the NT for the next several years is set.

The base - Ramirez, Torres, Hincapie, Porozo, Angelo Preciado, Estupiñan, Palacios, Moises, Gruezo, Mendez, Cifuentes, Franco, Plata, Sarmiento, Estrada.

I don't know if Enner will make it to the next World Cup but unless he retires he'll be part of the NT for at least the next year or two. The same applies to Dominguez, Galindez, Arboleda, and Mena.

Players I want to see integrated into the squad are Ordoñez, Pacho, Jose Hurtado, Chavez, Anthony Valencia, Nilson Angulo, Delgado, Vite. Marco Angulo would have been part of this list but it's probable he messed up his career. Realpe is a player that has to consolidate himself in Brazil. If he does then he'll be a player that has the potential to be part of the NT.

Young players to keep an eye on are Oscar Zambrano and Jose Klinger. The U20 Sudamericano is next year so I'm sure we'll see other promising talents emerge.

Who is that kid that is playing for Barcelona FC? I think he was already capped by Ecuador during a friendly. What are his prospects.

Call me crazy, but I want Klinsmann.

Diego Almeida. I'm not too sure about him tbh. He's yet to consolidate himself in first division ball. He's not a CB in my opinion. We may see him play for the U20 squad. If he does then we'll see how he's developed in the last year or so.

There's another kid that was recently capped by the U20 squad. He's part of Southampton. Kid's name is Jeremi Rodriguez and he plays as a LB.

The FEF has to get Marco Zambrano to commit to Ecuador. They can't let a talent like him slip by.

Klinsmann was rumored for as at one point right ? I feel like I vaguely remembered that.
Guillermo Almada seems to be liked by many MX fans as a possible option for their NT. People are hoping Uruguay has a good WC so that they dont sack their coach and end up calling him.
