Not sure Iran has an answer to the US.

We can definitely score against this US side in the 2nd half. We play better when we play with more urgency, we played without much urgency in the first half. But the major issue is US and their speed exposing us on the counterattack, we will be very vulnerable on the counterattack. It will be extremely difficult to come back from this, but not impossible.

the US still look really tame in attacking positions, I thought Iran looked more dangerous in the 1/2 opportunities they had at the very beginning of the game

Tim Weah is very talented, but he's not a serial scorer.
He should learn more from Daddy Weah.

LOL you're joking? Iran can certainly come back, but the USA has created a lot of opportunities. To say they haven't been more dangerous is disingenuous.

Think sonny Weah hasn't received the memo.
He doesn't know that he is allowed to shoot at goals. Just keeps possession or passes the ball.

When you have to shoot, shoot. Don't pass.

    PS: Offside goal Weah.

this is retarded. every time we go up we get scored on a counter because we are in practice playing with 10 men due to injured azmoun jogging and prancing around the pitch. If we had ghoddos on we wouldn't need to put another defender up and be so exposed on defense, and just naturally create chances. CQ sucked in 2014, was good in 2018, and had his all time worst performance now in 2022. his lineups and subs have been hands down the worse among any other coach this WC, this is inexcusable given how much time he had to know Iranian players. He should retire after this WC.

Iran was very fortunate to only concede one goal in that first half.

But that's what a striker needs to do.

That was also some shady shit…. Show more replays and angles. Their offside drawing/animation makes no sense. Looks like they took that still from a moment after the pass was made. The actual lines on the grass show something very different.

We deserve to be down due to CQs horrendous lack of competence. The 1 thing he does good, defense, and he even self-sabotaged on that. We go in with USA the one who needs to score, and he limits us to 10 men and we can't even play good defense anymore. If we played like we did against Spain and Portugal this USA team would not score on us in 1000 minutes. I don't know if he is getting senile or what. Though at this point even if we somehow get a draw and sneak in undeservingly, as an exception I would take it, because we have been screwed countless times in the past so it would even things out.

...to be fair, he only came back a couple months ago

On another note, Dest is that mercurial, sometimes distracted, sometimes otherworldly type of player that the US has had in short supply in our history :D

ngl every time Dest got the ball I panicked. It was a nightmare waiting to happen. He seems like the best US player in history talent wise, at least based on this match.

Why do the players look like mannequins?

Can't they have a realistic looking offside visual aid?

CQ finally gets the message and takes out Azmoun and brings in Ghoddos. Yea too late now... but better than nothing.
