I would love for him to get into the cell phone biz. He would throw an other $ 20B down the drain.

Elon, what genius. This should solve all the toxicity. Just ask everyone nicely to play nicely!

He's such a shitstain on the world.

An executive at Twitter said she worked more than 75 hours a week since Elon Musk took charge of the company as a result of his firing a large number of employees, the Irish Times reported.

Sinead McSweeney said in a statement to a High Court in Ireland that her working hours soared to more than 75 in a week since the billionaire took over.

McSweeney, who is Twitter's global vice-president for public policy, provided a statement to the court in a successful bid for an injunction to block Twitter from firing her.

The injunction was granted on Friday after McSweeney claimed she didn't resign but was restricted from accessing company systems and received an exit offer earlier this month.

Apparently this is a common tactic i.e Musk will just break the relevant EU employment law and pay damages rather than do things properly - its considered easier

Full disclosure, I have a Tesla. Great car, I drive it myself so I don't care about the self-driving while I'm napping bit. I think SpaceX is great (I'm in the space industry) because we can launch satellites way, way cheaper than ULA. For those of you that don't know, ULA is a partnership between Boeing and Lockheed who got tired of only winning 1/2 the launch contracts each. Musk is good at being on the spectrum and having good vision and working his people to meet that vision. He's also a type a A-hole. I suspect most people in the C-Suite are type a a-holes, but most are smart enough to stay off twitter. Maybe the problem is that the younger tech-bros grew up and grew rich using social media, and the older more traditional type a a-hole executives like to be rich and stay rich in their rich people bubbles.

I never used Twitter. I mean, all the tweets I've read are on the tweet thread in here. I don't care and I hope it goes under. Fast. Like Napster fast.

I understand is how social media is an outlet for stupidity, racism, and dispariging remarks. I get that. What I don't understand is how it's an outlet for violent threats against public figures. I mean, I can't imagine all these people threatening violence on liberals and vote counters are clever enough to really hide their IP address. Aren't these threats illegal and shouldn't the gov't be cracking down?

I suspect it's just further evidence of our two-tiered justice system.

Not only this, but apparently employers in the USA link health insurance and visas to work so that workers (and immigrant workers in particular) have no leverage when billionaires suddenly change their working hours from regular to hardcore.

FIFA need to put pressure on the US regime to reform its labour laws to avoid abuse of workers especially immigrants, otherwise the 2026 World Cup should only be held in respectable countries like Canada and Mexico.

Musk was able to use the exemption given rocket scientists to be able to legally immigrate to this country despite being a Nazi.

I'm not sure it is less expensive tho? According to what I've seen, Twitter could be looking at owing each EU employee 12-18 months of compensation. This is in addition to a large fine from EU regulators..

Combined with the previous anti-Semitic post, there's no doubt in my mind why he chose it.

(For those who don't know H is the 8th letter of the alphabet. Those who like to do a famous Nazi salute use the first letters of the two words, then convert them to numbers, which becomes 88).

Musk reportedly wanted to start calling the CEOs of companies that stopped or lowered their ad spends on Twitter to "berate them". I'm sure that would have been totally effective.

It's likely to be more expensive yes - but i presume the idea is just to shutter everything

In keeping with this, Musk has decided that rather than call Tim Cook to whine, he'll just whine on Twitter about how Apple is being mean for pulling ads from Twitter.

I thought that was an Ike song from before Tina? I have this dim memory that Ike released one of the first songs that led to what we now call rock’n’roll, and that’s its name.

    Oh well, off to Wikipedia.
