A lot, admittedly, but this REALLY diverts the soccer fan attention.

Not sure where to post this, so here it shall go:

My good friend, lifelong Crew fan, and BigSoccer poster, @Jim Bach passed away unexpectedly yesterday.

He will be missed by many.

I've been on a group text with Jim and another dear friend for the past several years. We talked music, cinema, politics, calico, and occasionally Columbus Crew. He sent my wife (a nurse) a care package at the beginning of the Covid pandemic.Honestly there is likely less than 30 days I didn't hear from him via text just checking in or whatever the past two years. He's very, very ********in missed. One of the smartest people and most understanding persons I know. Many of you know this as well.

    That's terrible.

Was he a member of the Olde Fartes or am I thinking of another Jim? (I'm thinking of the dude with the long black hair.)

I was surprised to see that Vermont beat UCLA 3-0 in the men's tournament.... Sweet 16 stage too.

I got this in an email. Congratulations to them.

The U.S. Women’s Cerebral Palsy National Team won the inaugural IFCPF Women’s World Cup, becoming the first-ever world champions in women’s CP soccer this spring.

A true legend indeed. He was such a great ambassador for "The Beautiful Game".

Thankful that I got to see him play (live), even if it was at the end of his career.

Never saw Pele play. But that bicycle kick in Victory is burned into my retinas, and I saw it 40 years ago.

Look up his highlights. There's a reason he scored over 1200 goals in his career and was picked by FIFA as the player of the century. Then, after his playing career, he was a great ambassador for the game.

    1) That article is just terrible. Turrble.

    2) If we wanna say MLS is potentially top 10 in the world now, then I can roll with that.

    1) England
    2) Spain
    3) Germany
    4) Italy
    5) France
    ———————
    6) Portugal
    7) Netherlands
    ———————
At this point, we have Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and USA. MLS might have some decent top tier talent, but we still lack depth league wide.

You can't be a top 10 league if Brek Shea has a job.
