I’m inclined to believe Ponchat… but what explains his absence from the sideline from so many conference games? Watched a game to scout and he was nowhere to be found on the bench. Just curious.
Watched a game to scout? Hmm…if you are part of a coaching staff, isn’t that a ncaa violation - scouting opponents live? Or maybe you work for a NWSL team and are looking at talent! Anyway - if he was forced to resigned, wonder why? Good success and you can’t keep players from complaining! Seems a tough job.
If I were a coach…it’s called ESPN+ or InStat..ever heard of it? Pretty easy to see on a broadcast when the Head Coach is missing, especially when rumors are that he’s suspended. Pretty sure every coach watches film on future opponents. Had heard the rumors, and he wasn’t there. End of story. Just curious if anyone has an explanation? Since so many people know him well (I have never met the guy, and like I said am inclined to believe he was not let go for performance reasons, or maybe at all).
Folks here love to attack the messenger. Which on an anonymous forum is kinda funny. It's clear watching even a HS game on video if a coach is present or not. Why would anyone assume there's 'in person' scouting? Is that even practical for many colleges? This was still about Lousiana-Monroe right? Not even heard of it. Is that Sunbelt? I do think it's interesting if Richmond did decide to use a 'firm' to find and vet candidates for their women's soccer position. At least it's a sign of some commitment to success going forward. Also interesting that Delaware had already done some of that vetting and was ready. Meanwhile, places like UMBC will continue to be a revolving door.
Guess it depends where the camera/benches are. I’ll be honest, I read it as they were watching the game in person as well at a quick glance. By the way, that might be the dumbest rule in college soccer right now. Who cares if someone is at the game in person? You get a better view on stream. But if you’d like to root on some coaching friends or just want to see a good game, you should be able to. Just because the schools out west are so spread out doesn’t mean no one else should be able to. That’s like saying because some schools can’t afford to fully fund their programs, no one should be able to.
Clemson might be added to the open list. Supposedly stepping away. I have this on fairly a credible source has anyone else heard this?
Hadn’t heard anything about Clemson. That would be a shock if true. As for others in the ACC I’d be curious. MIAMi just went 5-8-3. Showed some signs of life when they were .500 and had a decent RPI. Lost last two games and final RPI ended at 75. Some work to do still for Barnes. Looks like did enough to warrant another year. SYRACUSE in ACC 2015. 3-7. 11th 2016. 1-7-2. 13th 2017. 2-6-2. 12th 2018. 0-10, 14 last and bottom fell out 2019. 1-7-1. 13th (game w/Virginia was cancelled) 2020. 1-7. 11th out of 13 2021. 0-10. 14th last 2022. 1-6-3. 13th out of 14 teams. 95 RPI Still where they are. If anything they have gotten a little worse these past couple years. Only reason they finished above .500 is because of their embarrassingly soft non conference opposition. RPI is better than recent years but nowhere near to get them to bubble consideration. OK win against Miami and solid ties with Virginia, Clemson, and NC State. If they played a real overall schedule then could see if they’re actually making any headway up there. BOSTON COLLEGE 1-8-1 in the ACC, last place in the ACC, worst RPI in the conference at 112 (which is one spot ahead of Texas A&M Commerce). Went 12th, 11th, and last place the 3 seasons before. In 2018 the year before Lowe got there they went 14-5-1, 6-3-1 in the ACC. Crazy how far this program has fallen. This program really isn't going anywhere. New AD James has to make a decision on if he keeps Lowe or makes a clean break in his first year on the job. Don't see much changing with Lowe staying on. AD stated he will keep woeful football coach on so maybe there’s a lifeline there for women’s soccer, but football coach has a long term contract too which Lowe doesn’t have.
Good analysis. You’d think any P5 program making a performance based move would have done so by now, right?
very true. It sounded like a stepping down situation so I’m not sure if that changes timeline in terms of announcement.
One would think right? Unless schools with dreams of Power 5 assistants coming to take over their programs want to wait until the college cup is over. Possibly waiting until the much beloved evals to be done and get past Thanksgiving. I would say after another week, the jobs that are open are probably all that will open. Nice to see a quieter year for a change.
Maybe Radwanski at Clemson is stepping down to take the ULM opening. Would be a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it works. Rad is a good coach, don't know of any better positions open right now worth leaving for, wonder what his next steps are if that's true. Syracuse, tough situation, not that desirable to go there compared to other ACC locations. Methinks they will be terrible for awhile unless they can get a firebrand coach there who can change it similar to what U of Pacific has done in tough soccer conference to bring about change. ULM, reading all the chatter, I'll try to add my half a cent of insight concerning comments brought up for both sides. First, Sean did turn around a crummy program with history of getting stomped and make them successful, winning record the last two years, playoffs, bringing in some good talent, and some nice wins. Kudos for that. Negatives did happen though too, when hired recruiting illegal players contacting them before they were in the portal or signed, got into a bit of hot water for that right away. Then 2021, played an illegal player (ineligible for a third of the season) and they were forced to vacate/forfeit all of those wins, so around 5 wins became losses. Otherwise tremendous 13 win season. But that was another black eye. The suspension/ admin leave this year people talking about, I have zero insight on that, heard people talking about, but no details. Fraser told a coaching buddy that he Was offered to stay on there, he was deciding what to do. I think the AD there stepped down this fall, so interim AD in place, I wonder if he was worried once new one hired he would be let go because of the drama/violations. Nevertheless, he said him and his family did not like living in rural Louisiana and they were looking for better for that reason. So pro's and cons to Sean. Did a good job turning around a program, didn't always follow the rules. So self inflicted wound. Wish him the best.
Heard there is a player meeting with the Indiana State AD Monday night, so one could expect an official announcement shortly thereafter.
That would make sense as to why they haven’t announced. Good info. I wonder what the interest would be in the position. Terre Haute isn’t the greatest town, but it’s in a strong soccer region and I believe the funding is good.
I know they dumped a bunch of money into the Hulman center over the last couple years, so it seems ISU is willing to spend for the right project. A couple years back the AD put out a big "art of the possible" presentation that offered a couple different visions of upgraded athletic facilities. It came with a big price tag so not sure how realistic that is, but Memorial Stadium is definitely in need of a face lift.

I think you can take K-State off hot seat list heard over the weekend he is signing an extension for 4-5 years.
I can't imagine Eddie leaving Clemson for another job based on what's currently open. Only thing I could imagine is a job with the federation or something.
you nailed that one. saw he just signed an extension through 2026. and all the Big 12 coaches rejoiced
K-State rank history. The Massey and Improved ARPI ranks are the better indicators of how well K-State has done.
