I was thinking the same maybe Qatar park the bus to get 1pts to save face. But I highly doubt it, I’m here hoping Ecuador can draw or even possibly come out with 3pts

I did warn about the ridiculously lenient reffing .. allowing too many bad tackles to go unpunished !!

Then if someone is actually booked the manager just replaces them as they have 5 subs .

Last night Neymar was taken out as he ran through into the penalty box and the guy WAS booked as it was clearly deliberate and reckless .. he’s now possibly OUT of the World Cup :(

No surprised so far. Senegal was always the direct opponent. We have the upper hand in knowing the result before. Si se puede salir con un punto o perder solo por un gol, cambia mucho para el último partido vs Senegal.

Enner Valencia possibly out of the WC now and Gakpo also limping

The teams are obviously targeting the opposing teams main players

I really hope Enner was doing a nice little time kill and will be fine. Nos toca otra dificil vs Senegal.

    1. We were shaky at the back con esos 5 because I dont think we've practiced that line up. But they figured it out after the goal (I think they caught Galindez sleeping too)
    2. Once again we get a VERY weird and convoluted offsides explanation on a key goal
    3. The stamina on this team is top tier. They were fighting every ball
    4. Enner is the world cup man for us
    5. Pervis has improved soooooo much from that first game against Argentina during qualifiers (night and day in my opinion)
    6. Qatar will lose to everyone in the group by a good amount of goals. Netherlands is already qualified so we obviously just have to tie Senegal and we're in. Losing will be catastrophic

I’m really proud of this team. You would see it in las eliminatorias that they would keep fighting while being down.

Jhegson has acumulated cards so he will miss next game. He’s been really good.

Ecuador played an amazing game and towards the end they gained a lot more confidence and took the game to Holland. Would’ve been amazing if Plata scored that.

The game against Senegal will be an amazing one. The pressure is on Senegal to produce a win to advance whereas Ecuador at most need a draw. Regardless we can’t let up this is a defining moment for our players.

I’m sure we’ll be going back to a back 4 vs Senegal, no Mendez but Gruezo will surely fill the role. Moisex better play it smart to not pick up another Yellow and miss out next game. Hopefully the Enner injury isn’t as bad and he can heal over these next few days. Would be nice to have someone else score, the over reliance on Enner may be our downfall.

Ecuador played a good game. They deserved to win. Hincapie, Pervis, and Enner were the players that stood out the most in my opinion. La linea de tres le resulto a Alfaro. That allowed Pervis to play higher up the pitch. This ultimately led to the goal that tied the game.

Mendez is on beast mode. He's had good games for the national team before but he's been on a different level these past two games. I would be surprised if he doesn't make the move to Europe after the World Cup. He's young and has an impressive skill set.

How should we go about the next game. I feel like we should rest some players and get some others playing time so they could be in good form for the next games to come. I'm confident in the players we have in our bench that they can compete vs Senegal. I would line up like so.

    Galindez
    Arboleda, Torres, Porozo, Palacios
    Franco, Gruezo, Cifuentes
    Rodriguez, Estrada, Sarmiento

If we had won there was a chance Alfaro would have rested players. The game against Senegal is a final. If we lose (and the Netherlands beats Qatar) we're out of the World Cup. I think the starting line up will look very similar to the one we saw against Qatar. The only change is gonna be Gruezo in place of Mendez.

Nope ,this is a bad idea,we have to bring the same team with minor replacements or subs,we did this in Germany but only after securing 6 points,we haven’t qualified yet and we need the full squad.

What the heck happened to Argentina?

They just don’t look that good.

FR they didn’t look like the Arg from qualifiers, but Mexico didn’t have that player that could turn it around either and WC history goes to Argentina whenever they play Mex,they always win.

    Against Senegal I’d go 4-4-2

Galindez; Preciado, Torres, Hincapie, Estupiñan; Plata, Gruezo, Caicedo, Ibarra; Enner, Estrada

If we secured a lead and Caicedo hasn’t picked up a Yellow I’d sub him to save him for England. If im not mistake yellows reset after R16. Interesting enough if the Netherlands and us secure the same result with them picking up 3 cards we could be first

    Any word on Enner's fitness/health?

I agree with your lineup...this will be a very physical game, and these lads (except Plata) can handle getting roughed up. I expect lots of heavy fouls to slow us down. This game is worth millions in transfer fees.

Every team during this World Cup tournament seems beatable. Brazil might be the toughest, but we'll see how they line up for a full 90 without Neymar.
