Wales park the bus and look for set piece goals.
USA gifted them a penalty that shouldnt have happened .

Best result for us. If Iran can get a result vs Wales and we can beat the USA then I think we would win the group with a game to spare.

Genuinely baffling. Maguire was more obviously fouled than that or for Iran's penalty.

Argentina 2-1 down to Saudi Arabia. Still plenty of time for it to turn around but just shows that these South American sides aren’t the indomitable forces they have been billed to be.

Exactly Bellingham and rice would walk into that midfield

Their defence is also not up to much. Kane would bully them.

It's a new rule to try and combat time wasting. I really think shortening the game whilst stopping the clock would work better.

Whatever happens now, this is encouraging. Argentina were many people’s favourites yet they’ve looked very ordinary against a side who haven’t even been particularly difficult to play against. You could drive a bus through the gaps in the Saudi midfield and defence yet Argentina haven’t looked threatening since the opening spell.

This is a joke, going on longer than a test match.

So far from Netherlands and Argentina I've seen nothing to fear

A historic loss, really puts the cat amongst the pigeons. Must say Argentina looked exceedingly poor. Very much an England - Iceland performance for them. And that was with a very, very favourable ref who gave them absolutely everything.

FIFA really need to sort out this stoppage time also, its going to cause huge controversy. They should be stopping the clock for injuries, subs and goals rather than just playing a very large amount of injury time. As it is there's no transparency where the extra time comes from.

I don’t think FIFA could change to a stoping clock policy mid tournament. I imagine it would have to go through the IFAB procedure for rule changes. I totally agree it should be done through for all matches - not just at the World Cup but in the PL, UEFA tournaments etc.

What is materially different about stopping the clock and adding time on?

I am actually supportive of what Fifa are doing right now. Penalise timewasting

Stoping the clock is more objective because you can see when the clock is stoped and when it’s resumed again. Because of the lengthy injury stop in added time nobody knew how much more time they was to play once play resumed.

+8 minutes added on initially. Game ended at 103. The injury which was a player knocked out from knee in the face, took 5 minutes in injury time.

I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill.

    It’s been an excellent change.

Players will need to be so so fit now though.
