Ghana? Doubtful. Unless vengeance for 2010 with Uruguay. Young squad, lots of great new players, but they've barely played together. Saw Ghana - Switzerland. That guy from the Ghanaian league was fire! How is this guy still playing in Ghana? First time I heard his name. Could be breakout of tournament. Switzerland and Belgium teams to crash.
Swiss for me had the better of the game, two pretty scrappy goals on set pieces. I also think they Swiss don’t stack up well against African teams.
All I said about Portugal was that I thought they weren't as good as Brazil. If that's enough to trigger you Mr. Snowflake you have a real fragile ego.
Im surprised you know what Poncha is. Most Portuguese dont. It’s A madeiran island thing and that’s where I am from. I know how to make it. I make Excellent Poncha.
Im not a snowflake. I thought you said otherwise. Portugal can beat or lose to anyone but Brazil and Germany are the only Teams who frighten me. Germany because they always beat us no matter the level of the teams
My knockout stage bracket. Award winners will come later. Does anyone how I can post this in a way it shows off without having to click on it? https://www.bein.com/predict/en/sha.../predict/dbc385699e76a50e4996e9629a46fc49.png
If you upload it to imgur.com, you will see three dots in the top right corner of the image. Click on it and then "Get share links". Then finally "BBCode (Forums)", which you paste in here. I like your predicted final. It's daring, yet makes total sense. Morocco over Germany is also interesting.
Thanks a lot. Yes, Morocco are for me what Costa Rica 2014 was. I see a fairy tale run coming from them. They have a tough task with Croatia and Belgium in their group and it won't get any easier in the Round of 16 either. But Costa Rica 2014 managed to surpass themselves and outdo those big teams. And I see the same potential in this Moroccan team.
Nothing says "had better of the game" than losing 2:0, having zero shots on goal (to Ghana's 6) and fouling like crazy because they couldn't do anything constructive with the ball. Also second goal was not set piece. It was from open play. Biased post.
Why not Algeria 2014? Until recently Halilhodzic was in charge of Morocco and he managed Algeria in 2014 (also faced criticism back then but a larger group of players supported him than was the case with Morocco this time round). Could as well go with a neighbouring country and rival to become the next Algeria; besides Morocco aren't nearly as defensive as Costa Rica in 2014 (Algeria didn't mind playing cautiously if required, Morocco's current manager has been known to as well in the past, and like Algeria they know how to attack). Algeria even faced Belgium in the groups in 2014; just like Morocco in 2022; and another UEFA side, a country that would host the next World Cup; this time round Canada is gearing up to make a splash when they (co-)host it in 4 years time. You have Morocco facing Germany in the next round; come on now Algeria also faced Germany in 2014 and came close to knocking them out (a more experienced Algeria might not have lacked composure in front of goal and been more clinical, they had quite a few chances to do so but can't be wasteful in WC games).
Just for the record I have Brazil beating England for bronze. In that Bein sheet it wasn't possible to predict the third place game. But I will soon make a post with the summary of my picks including the award winners as well.
Is this the official Group Stage prediction thread? A Netherlands Ecuador B England United States C Argentina Mexico D France Denmark E Germany Spain F Canada Belgium G Brazil Switzerland H Uruguay Portugal
I think you're the first person here who has predicted Canada will finish first in their group. That is bold.
I'll be honest. Group F is the only group that had me stumped and thinking long. Honestly could go any way IMO.
A Senegal Netherlands B England Iran C Argentina Mexico D France Denmark E Germany Japan (I know!) F Morocco Croatia G Brazil Serbia H Portugal Uruguay vs Ghana!
Ghana was without a doubt the better team, but to be fair the opportunity Vargas missed early on was ridiculous. Still even with that Ghana deserved another goal themselves.
Yes, Switzerland had some chances and could have gotten better result (but most football matches is tale of missed chances). Ghana still played better for 90 minutes. Different game, different result. Sure. Vargas score than Ghana lose? Very possible. Still Ghana on top in this game and saying Switzerland better is not true. I would be worried as a Swiss fan and a bit more optimistic as Ghana fan. Still no idea why Jordan Ayew plays ahead of Sulemana or Kudus...
