My guess is that this is a f.uck up, but Russia is in Trump mode: never explain, never apologize. But seeing as how Russia is getting its arse kicked daily, by the minute by the Ukrainians, I do doubt that Putin decided, “yeah, I know, let’s make more enemies with much bigger resources and take them on also!”
........ or North Korea style! You told me not to. I didn't really, just a pinky toe over the line. Now what are you gonna do about it? Nothing? Thought so. ....... or it was a false flag! Wasn't Russia at all, was those pesky Ukranians trying to escalate things and pin it on us peaceful Russians! Next thing you know those dastardly Ukranians will drop a dirty bomb on your asses.
I just got my fingerprints done for a new job. It takes about two weeks to get the results. Ugh...I've been out of work since October 7 and can't start until the fingerprint results come back. You'd think in 2022 this could be a bit more streamlined.
I'd say this is most likely the case. The Russians have proven almost daily how incompetent they are at this invasion thing.
the downward Twitter spiral is getting worse by the day .... https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/15/tech/elon-musk-twitter-employees/index.html Elon Musk has publicly clashed with a growing number of Twitter employees about the state of the platform, and fired at least one of them in a tweet, in an unusually visible sign of corporate chaos after his $44 billion takeover of the influential company. Musk on Monday got into a dispute with software engineer Eric Frohnhoefer on Twitter that ended with the billionaire tweeting “he’s fired,” and Frohnhoefer confirming he’d lost access to Twitter’s internal systems. The public termination came after Frohnhoefer tweeted evidence suggesting that Musk was “wrong” about his claims that Twitter was running, in the billionaire’s words, “super slow” in various countries. Frohnhoefer told CNN Monday night that he found out about the firing when a friend sent him Musk’s tweet and said that “no one even reached out to me from Twitter.” Frohnhoefer added that he had been “willing to give it a try” under Musk and described himself as “in the wait-and-see camp,” but that “everything that has been reported is true.” He described working for Musk as a “total sh*t show” and the current state of affairs as pure “chaos.” At least one other employee who chimed in offering context on the issue had also been fired as of Tuesday morning, according to a tweet by that employee. And a handful of other Twitter employees said Tuesday on the platform that they were fired by an email that said their “behavior has violated company policy,” with some speculating that the move may have been a reaction to comments they made in internal Slack channels. Sources have indicated to CNN that employees in recent days had been very candid in criticism of Musk in the company’s Slack. In response to a tweet about news of the firings Tuesday, Musk said, “I would like to apologize for firing these geniuses. Their immense talent will no doubt be of great use elsewhere.”
Maybe it was Reagan taking on the Evil Empire, maybe it’s been a lot of everything since, but you really have to wonder what this reverence for and fear of the Soviet/Russian military machine was and is all about. Can you hammer the f.uck outta a country wrapped up in a civil war? Syria says yes. Can you hammer the same f.uck outta country not in a civil war? Afghanistan says no. And Ukraine says who are you, we’ll have ya!

All Republican. All voted against the federal protection of same-sex and interracial marriage.
Interesting that 12 Reps - about a quarter of the caucus - voted to advance the bill along with the Dems.
Pelosi stepping down as head of the House Democratic caucus. Whatever you think of her politics and bare knuckles political style, she was a highly effective party leader and arguably one of if not the single most influential women in recent American politics and government.
With the possible exception of Eleanor Roosevelt, the single most influential woman in US politics ever. Probably.
I really knew nothing about her until the past few years. My first thoughts were surely the Dems could find someone much younger and relatable to be Speaker. But I have to say after watching her she's earned my respect as a strong capable leader and a wise one an all.
Lol, throw in "interracial marriage" into that bill despite it being in no way under attack in this country now or in many DECADES. No bad faith actors here. They're as pure as the driven snow. FFS
Yep, to quote Forest Gump, stupid is as stupid does. Or to put it another way, ain’t no accounting for willfully or intentionally blind. The basis of striking down the ban on interracial marriage, Loving vs. Virginia, was that it violated the 14th Amendment wherein the Warren court declared a right to privacy in matters such as this. The precursor to this decision was Griswold where the court explicitly found that right to privacy in “intimate matters” must be "protected from governmental intrusion". These two decisions laid the groundwork for Roe and Lawrence. In their striking down of Roe, Alito et al. have cast serious doubt that there is a right to privacy in the implied in the Due Process clause of the 14th Amendment, having pretty much said there is no right to privacy and finding one was improperly reasoned and applied. Their basis for Dobbs in overturning Roe - eschewing the right to privacy in “intimate matters” - puts Griswold, Loving and Lawrence ripe for picking off. With Roe gone and its philosophical underpinning diminished/eviscerated, the others will be picked off also by various incarnations of Christofascists. For instance there are already rumblings from Tennessee to overturn Griswold, that non-medical use of contraception should be prohibited. Lawrence is openly in the crosshairs of the Right. And if/when Griswold and Lawrence fall due to no right to privacy inherent in the 14th Amendment, all it’s going to take is one bad actor, one Christofascist, to claim that the law HAS to be equally applied, that if you’re going to throw out Roe, Griswold and Lawrence because there’s no right to privacy, then Loving also has been improperly argued and has the exact same philosophical underpinnings and therefore it has to go. And that’s why it’s so important that the Democrats are proposing to protect gay and interracial marriage and that’s why it’s so telling that the vast majority of the GOP didn’t. 39 GOP senators thought it necessary to oppose the protection of gay and interracial marriage. Bigot much? But Loving is not under attack and there are no bad faith actors here. Yep, there really is no accounting for the stupid.
It sure is good to who they are that voted against it. If it's not a big deal - why vote against it? I mean, it's common sense right? No one in this day and age is against same-sex marriage or inter-racial marriage - are they? No chance that's possible? Oh....anyway Samarkand laid it out much more cleanly.
looks like many Twitter employees are telling Musk to fukk off, and have decided not to sign up to serve their new master "extreme hardcore". good for them. I never use the thing - has anyone posted a pic of the blue bird logo next to a decaying lettuce?
