In other news, the Vietnamese media is reporting that Shin Tae-yong could replace Park Hang-seo as the next manager for Vietnam. With the recent Indonesian football riot/stampede incident, he has the option to leave his post.

There is a rumor that PHS will replace Huh Jung-moo as the director of football operation of Daejeon Hana Citizen.

Whether he stays abroad or returns home, he knows very well to stay away from the knt job.

on paper Korea should come 3rd in the ranking, but I have the impression that they will manage to get out of the group. I think Son heung min will be very good in attack, and Kim min jae in defense.

Bento to include Son to the final 26-man WC squad/roster. Doesn't want to think about a plan B, and that he wants to give Son all the support he needs for his recovery. He also adds that he already notified all of the players that will be cut from the roster.

Depends on who plays in the defensive midfield position, and how well.

If Son Jun-ho steps up again, then he'd be our new starter with Jung Woo-young playing in certain matches. Either way, we'll just have to proceed with what we've got.

More or less, but like what 박문성 stated, we need to just bite down, believe, and move forward with it. Perhaps after the WC we can ditch the Jung Woo-young card in favor of Son Jun-ho or whoever steps up to the plate (Assuming our next manager is open to this idea).

Kim Jinsoo is seriously hurt. He will not play vs Iceland(Bento said so). He made a choice to be loyal to his team than to NT. He may miss the WC for the third time in a row due to injury. He is not Son HM; if he is not in a good form he may not be selected.

Does he think too highly of himself or is he stupid? It was an FA cup, not even a relegation match. He can only blame himself.

If it's a hamstring injury, then he's likely to miss out on the WC for the third time. I also have no idea why Kim Sang-shik even decided to start Kim Jin-su when he hasn't even fully healed his hamstring.

With both Kim Jin-su and Kim Moon-hwan out due to injury, our options are only down to Yoon Jong-gyu and Kim Tae-hwan, unless Bento is still reserving Lee Yong.

Edit: Hong Chul is the only option for LB.

He probably asked Kim JS whether he wanted to start. That is why I think Kim JS has a bigger share of blame. But Kim Sangshik was on the NT for a long time himself. That is why it is all the more inexcusable that he destroyed a man's WC dream, his only realistic chance in his life, that way. Kim JS may have just barely recovered for the WC if he did not play in the last game but how stupid!!

K League has a deep grudge against NT. They think they sacrificed too much for the NT. That may be true compared with European leagues but in Asia, K-League has had easier time compared with the rest, even compared with J League. J League even sent some of their best players to Europe without any transfer fee. It is the main reason that there are more Japanese players in Europe now. Koreans ridiculed and made fun of Japanese initially but look at what happened now.

J League is also more cooperative with player-release for NT, especially U-XX NT. Years ago even Verbeek thought K League was too harsh and selfish. They would not release players for a WC qualifier(2nd round) because Korea had already qualified. But the Asian Games was about a month away and it was a good chance to test the players. Even European teams don't do that.(strictly speaking Verbeek could have forced them to release but opted not to) And soccer fans tend to side with the K League because they think it is the European thing, an "advanced" thing to be loyal to the local club and criticize/don't care about the NT. It is a variation of Political Correctness with a Korean specific twist and shallowness.

The maddening thing is that all this was quite unnecessary. But this has been the pattern ever since K League was created. They want to finish the schedule by November. This year they finished about 3 weeks earlier due to the WC. The reason they want to finish the season early is ... just for the sake of Confucian industriousness and diligence. They don't want anything in December because it is the time for the players to visit club owners and the club owners can brag, to his friends, that so and so came to his house to do 세배. Ah it is good to be the club owner.

According to the staff and Kim JS there is no outright injury but he feels uncomfortable around the hamstring. But he appeared to be lying. Wouldn't you if you were he?
Bento will select Na Sangho even he is on a wheelchair so I don't know about Kim JS. He may still be selected or Bento is too pissed that he may lash out on Kim JS by not selecting him.

I will be happy if he is selected, it is a 26 man squad and the man finally goes to the WC. But another part of me wants to see him cry miserably for the foolish choice he made. I want to see him cry in youtube. I will watch it 30 times over and over again. Gosh we had high hopes on him in 2011. He and Son are of the same age and former U-17 NT teammates and personal friends as well.

Aside from Hong Chul, we don't have much options at LB, in fact he's like the only one besides Kim Jin-su, so it will be a blow to our defense if he ends up missing the WC due to an injury again. Plus, Bento hasn't even tested other options in that area, maybe Lee Ki-je like once?

Unless Jho gets injured he is nearly 100 percent in. It will be so nice to pair him with Lee KI but ah Bento, the Japanese lunch box.
