was trying to read about this. apparently, some dude just grabbed a knife off the shelf and started stabbing people. the market was apparently pretty crowded since there's something happening nearby soon. WTF?
If it was USA it woulda been a gun. In Europe & China they resort to knives more. Either way the fact that people feel motivated, or inspired, or compelled, or justified to do this is utterly and entirely fvcked up. Hope Pablo will be OK, along with everyone else. (I've not read a single word of news coverage on it)
Our thoughts are with Pablo Mari and the other victims of today's dreadful incident in Italy. We have been in contact with Pablo’s agent who has told us he’s in hospital and is not seriously hurt.— Arsenal (@Arsenal) October 27, 2022
I remember Paul Pierce getting stabbed in the face at a club years ago. Looking on wikipedia, I did not remember that he was stabbed 11 times, yikes! Hope Mari is okay. He's still on the books at Arsenal with a loan that becomes permanent if Monza stay up. They currently sit 15th after a rough start, Mari has been starting when healthy. Hope he is okay, it seems like Serie A has been a good fit for him, on the pitch at least.
it really feels like spain or italy would be the better fit for him. he's smart and technical enough to excel there while his lack of athleticism should be less of a problem.
jens doing, y'know . . . jens things. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...ens-Lehmann-faces-fresh-vandalism-claims.html
Adrian Clarke on today's TF podcast said that he's heard rumblings of a blockbuster friendly the club is scheduling for the Grove in December. He wouldn't be baited [ or bated? ] into giving any clue. Watch this space.
Think: "abated" in the earlier instance. Bated in older English was often written like this: ' bated to indicate that it's an abbreviation.
Got it. Bated breath is actually 'bated breath is actually abated breath, i.e. holding your breath. Makes perfect sense. Learn something new every day. Now I just have to unlearn a very well-worn misspelling habit. Don't hold your breath!
Transfermarkt updated their player values and Arsenal had by far the biggest increase of any PL club since their last valuation right after the window closed, jumping €84m. This was due to the appreciation of players like Saka, Martinelli, Jesus, Odegaard and Saliba. City went up, but Liverpool, Chelsea, United and sp*rs all dropped in value. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ars...update-tottenham-fall-behind/view/news/413232
On today’s Arsecast they mentioned that we’ll play Milan & Lyon, in Dubai I think. Didn’t find any other details online yet.
This had me smiling the whole way through, and he ticked more than a few boxes for me... https://www.arsenal.com/news/watch-jonas-eidevall-colney-carpool
Interesting take. Doesn't account for Newcastle but some positives for us... https://www.tiktok.com/@rory_talks_football/video/7166270958850821381

Yes Saka should start every game wide right but the rumours suggest he’s gonna play Sterling or Foden there which is utter bollox
I watched a clip where Carragher, Neville, Redknapp and Carney all picked their teams for the starting game of Englands world cup. They all picked Kane up top, Foden either LWF or LM, Rice and Bellingham in the middle, Stones at CB and Shaw at LB. Redknapp went Saka RWF, Neville didn't have Saka but had White as CB in a back 3, Carragher had Saka RWF. I find it funny how so many pundits are talking about how teams need to pick players in form and regularly starting, and yet England ends up with Maguire at CB and Sterling at RW. Sterling isn't in form, Maguire is barely playing.
