Is this the Laurent Courtois era? Any others? Discuss in this space. (mods: should this be catchall offseason/roster)?
I really hope the front office continues their tradition of not listening to fans for this search since there's a thread on Facebook right now suggesting Jordan Angeli as a candidate.
What about Pellegrino Matarazzo who just got fired from Stuggart? Born in New Jersey so maybe wants to come back to the States
https://www.dispatch.com/story/spor...us-crew-teams-before-being-fired/69552180007/ Sigi was not the Crew coach in 2005. Someone tweet at Arace, please.
Athletic is saying Courtois is a candidate. Paul and Sam reporting that makes me wonder if some people in the org are pro-Courtois; they aren't ones to guess. Pete and Bez were at the last few Crew 2 games, and Dee was at the championship.
Luchi Gonzalez, GGG's current top assistant would be one that I would like to see get an interview. He's a tad busy for the next month and a half though. Just please avoid Kreis and maybe soon to unemployed Peter Vermes. We don't need another alpha asshole as a head coach.
Not to discount the original statement here, but for a start, the quality of the roster was good enough to make the playoffs.
While Laurent did a great job. Managing presumably high level players is very different than managing prospects. If we want to really show intent with this job search We have to go after Tata
How is everyone’s music listening today following the cancellation of the Caleb Porter Soccer Show? Anything from the previously-discussed soundtrack?
I guess Sam was speculating. No inside info, but I expect Columbus to take a good look at Crew 2 head coach Laurent Courtois for the MLS job.Courtois led Crew 2 to first-place regular season finish and inaugural MLS Next Pro Cup title this season.More on that + the Porter firing: https://t.co/RXOCRq19YG— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) October 10, 2022 If we hire Tata, Nagbe will retire. May not be the worst option.
Schelotto doesn’t really have a great record as manager, around .500. Thomas Dooley, seems much better. We’d have to pry him away from the Philippines, though.
