Considering how limited Germany are in CM, I also don't understand why Weigl wasn't called up.

good to see you back after long time…I think Marius Wolf should be brought into the squad as right back if Klostermann doesn’t recover from injury or shows some form…If Wolf plays consistently well in the remaining matches for Dortmund before the World Cup, Flick should take him over Henrichs

Meanwhile, on a positive note, Musiala playing like he's Henry. Such elegance with the ball, it's a shame we couldn't witness the amazing partnership of Musiala + Wirtz.

Wirtz can headbutt anyone he likes if he, like Zidane, wins a WC and Euro for us first. But does it have to be an Italian player? ;)

    lol.

he'll headbutt a Spaniard or Flick for subbing him out early in a match and gets banned for life by dfb.

honestly Stefan Effenberg still funniest banning by Germany, giving middle finger to fans.:ROFLMAO: I'm not sure I would have banned him for that. You should know what you get with an A-Hole in your squad.:p

I think Kevin Kuranyi also funny. Ditches team during a match and walks away for good, lol. And with him started Low's distates for most CFs and blacklisting left and right.

I think Wirtz or Musiala could win us a Tourney but not until next generation crop breakthrough tbh. I'm still in that 02-onwards+some older players is where we could see a crop that could potentially win us a trophy. If you take all best talents and based on positions that is more likely tbh. You even have some promising CF talents that is lacking in older. Only question mark is RB but we'll wait and see how the RBs dev and play at pros.

a lot thought 95-96 would win us a trophy.........they did CC17, lol. But think that could be all that we manage to squeeze from current crop. 2018-present have shown there are lacking elements to really win a trophy especially if you involve all top teams in Europe (Euro) and Europe+World (WC). I actually admit I don't want to face Brazil, just feels like 100% they would want revenge for 2014 WC and we aren't in form to face them. Brazil also producing some promising youth too.

Germany will beat both Brazil and Argentina even when they are in shambles…it’s the European teams against whom Germany will have problems

you shouldn't underestimate Brazil. I don't think current Germany wins that. Even current Germany could struggle vs Argentina. I'm not convinced by D that concedes in all matches and an attack that is predictable.

lol seeing some media saying Germany and Pengland so bad that they are showing that neither gonna win WC..........I agree, even if we had all available players unless we click like crazy come tourney time, don't see it for either.

well at least our trophy drought is only from 2017 and not 1966.....:ROFLMAO:

I'm curious about something, when people say they want CFs. How many would want a Hawwy Kane?

in every match I've watched Kane play vs Germany.........have not been impressed tbh, yes he scored in 3/3 of recent but all of them were easy goals with 2/3=PKS. I don't care about EPL so what he does there has little interest.

He won Golden Boot in WC18 thanks to hat trick vs Panama (2 PKs, LOL) and double vs Tunisia and that was 5/6 goals he scored and from GS too. From his 6 goals, 50% were just PKs and others headers+tap ins.

He's just a targetman and poaching CF type that's it.

From Pengland CFs, prefered Owen tbh. Still only Pengland player I ever liked watching play and that's over 20 years, LMAO.

honestly would take a Lewa, Haaland, Suarez, Owen, Aguero, Klose, Gomez, R9. Adriano (pre-issues), Henry, Benzema, van Nistelrooy, van Persie, Drogba, Eto'o, Raul, Villa, Torres, Toni, Del Piero/Totti (forwards) etc I'm sure forgetting some.

Tbf Kane actually started his career as a 10, so his passing and vision are pretty good. I agree he wouldn’t necessarily fit into the German NT though, but I guess if he ends up at Bayern we’ll get a better idea of how it might have worked.

Always wished Lewa was German lol. Prime Raul or even Schalke version was also a player I really liked.

    Never forget,

that he is born just next door is what makes it soooo close. Do think if Lewa was German we would have won a lot more trophies in that 2012-2016 period. Imagine Lewa, Klose and Gomez for CF talents. And Lewa fit German Bayern perfectly too.

I think we really need a future CF at Bayern (will be harder as this club doesn't integrate and we'll likely need someone to transfer with a lot of exp) and also at Dortmund (we have some Adeyemi/Moukoko/Brunner). Clubs who play CL regularly. And when you have a German block who play regularly together. Would only benefit NT,

yeah I always liked Raul, does suck that he missed out on Spanish trophies in NT. Although I rate Villa and Torres as players I'm meh towards them, always liked Raul more. I do admire how a Spanish legend was willing to go to Schalke and then also become a Legend at the club. How many Spaniards would have made any 1BL move?

Yep add Lewa to the Bayern NT bloc (being greedy Alaba too lol) and I think the team 100% wins Euro 2016 minimum, would have been a very dominant era.

WC18 and Euro20 could also have been very different if Lewa was playing with us too.

by 2018, Gomez was past his prime too. Although Werner has good attributes his lack of finishing doesn't help. A Volland is barely NT material so wasn't going to give you much in 2021. I do think we beat England last year with a Lewa upfront, we had potential to win that game too. Muller should have scored but barely missed. I think Werner almost scored too.

what I'm trying to say is with a Lewa, Germany could have winged it in 2018 and 2020 even with Low as coach, lol.

I really hope to see a new wave of German CF breakthrough in future. We have some interesting potential but time will tell how they dev. But its likely years away from most to be options for Senior NT. So we have to make do with what we got.

Really hope so. Gutted this kid got injured when he did, a once in a generation talent. If he can get 3 to 4 games before world cup then a strong possibility!

I do hope he makes it too. Would be good experience for him and for NT in terms of future. Would rather this WC be his 1st NT tourney that waiting until 2024 and he does have potential to help even if sub.

no one in Europe is playing that well. Will it finally end the 20 year Europe domination in WC. Would be funny that Brazil looks most in form and they are last to win it from non-Europe.

its still hilarious though and sucks for him he missed out on Euro 1996 but it also meant he missed out on Dark Ages 1,0, lol.

If Germany make it past the quarter-finals I'd be genuinely surprised.

People always say the 2002 NT was the worst ever, but they made it all the way to the final, which means they still had that ironclad fighting mentality, and that IMO is Löw's most heinous crime, stripping away the NT of its fighting mentality, because starting with him I noticed how the players quickly fell apart at the slightest setback, and ever since the opposing team opening the scoreline is usually all it takes to beat Germany nowadays.

Honestly Flick should use this World Cup to prepare for the Euro, besides 28 years is too much of a time gap between Euro victories.
