At least you’re not @Chaz Striker. He sees a mistake every time he looks in a mirror.

Best case scenario for him would be to be stripped of the captaincy then prove himself to get his confidence back.

He doesn't have the physical attributes (agility / speed) to defend high.

If we don't defend high then we can't compact the space.

If we can't compact the space we can't press.

Just rewatch the Liverpool v City game from the other week to see how high both teams played their defensive lines.

His physical attributes won't change. He didn't suit latter stage Ole, he doesn't suit Ralf and he won't suit EtH. Have to get rid.

He's good on the ball in the oppo's half. When paired with a quick defender who can recover the space behind, I don't think it's an issue if we're high. But he has a mobility problem. Whether it's at the halfway line or the 18-yard box, he will have issues when he has to get tight to players.

Before the Arsenal game, both Rio and Keown made a point to say Maguire makes a lot of mistakes, but those mistakes aren't always simply down to him and they argued he's been made into the scapegoat for the team's issues.

Rio has placed the greatest emphasis on cultural changes needed within the club and secondly on the point of the recruitment. I have to agree with these views.

This is also a lie drummed up by English media and fans.

Just like him being great in the air. Total bullshit.

lol even if this were true this is not a redeeming quality in any sense. he's supposedly a defender so he's essentially never in the opposition half other than a set piece anyway so it is meaningless.

this is a feeble defence or case for keeping him

I wouldn't regard Stones to be a better player than Maguire, but at the moment he's looking the better player. It wasn't that long ago he was on the bench rumored to be on the way out. Someone like AWB might cross the ball and defend blindly more often than not, but he has comparable qualities to Walker in fact.

Neither have been good enough for us, but the truth is they aren't far away from the quality of the players in their very positions at the league's leaders.

most interesting highlight for me is how many non elite players have crept into that top 10 or 15 over recent years.

the rich clubs are not spending wisely. or at least as wisely as before

Harry Maguire is a disgrace if he has been blaming other players in convo with a journo.

Can’t be a captain and a rat at the same time.

Let's wait and see. I need to know if it's him or an unauthorised member of his camp. Either way, this could be disruptive to the dressing room, and I don't know how his position as captain (or player) could be maintained.

Said it before and I’ll say it again…

I’ve never hated a United player like I hate Maguire. As a player and a person, he’s just shit.
