It's a joke, but that basic theory is correct. i.e. a player with a small passive receiver could receive tiny signals from the accomplice.

Magnus spoke about this in an interview a few months back. He would not need to receive every move as early in the game they play from the table bases (i.e learned prep). There are typically 2-3 big moments in Super GM games and he would only need a heads up to look for a winning idea - sometimes these moments get missed, but if someone told you there was a winning move, typically a 2800 player would then find it, just by calculating

    I am not so sure,

After Magnus implied it, Hikaru outright accused Hans of cheating in online which Hans said was conspiracy but then had to admit he cheated twice and got caught, then chessdotcom said in fact he cheated more than 2x, and now banned him from chessdotcom - so he lied twice in his public interviews.

It turns out he started cheating online in the pandemic, when esports chess really was taking off, and his big rise in OTB began soon after - so this is a guy who already got caught using engines.

What i don't understand is why he was allowed to play in this OTB tourney when he is a known cheater ...

Yes - online has been plagued by engine use for years - but everyone thought that OTB was pretty straight.

When the chess tour went virtual during the pandemic, they implemented a lot of precautions against engine use.

The accusation in the magnus game is that Hans coincidentally prepared the opening line that morning yet Magnus had never played that line before, then in his post match interview, Hans gave an unconvincing account of how he just so happened to prep that line.

But of course that could happen. Sometimes the opponent stumbles into your opening prep, and you can play all best moves.

Then in his next game, in the his post match interview, he gave quite a bizarre account of the game, as if he hadn't really understood the position.

Again he could just be a strange guy

Or by a chess champion's paranoia.

To be clear: If the guy could somehow cheat by receiving a chess program's best move, he would wipe the floor with Magnus Carlsen or any other human player. The days are LONG gone when Garry Kasparov could go toe to toe with a supercomputer assembled solely for the purpose of a chess exhibition. Now any ordinary computer armed with the right software can crush humans. But ... nobody has any evidence that the cheat actually occured. And it's not as if chess champions haven't made false accusations before.

First person object pronoun (as oppose to "I" which is first person subject pronoun).
Also, indirect object of a verb (as you state)- "She sent me this." (which could be "She sent this to me.")

    Yep!

This actually gets to something serious, all the civil war talk.

When you see the word pronoun, you react normally, and you see the thing as defined by Webster's. But to the far right, it's a symbol, the word "pronouns" is a symbol, exactly like that NH senate candidate with his shield peppered with arrows. An example that was more common maybe 10 years ago was when pro-lifers brought up Dred Scott-the pro-life movement has this whole fairy tale connecting Dred Scott to the rights of fetuses.

In other words, we can all laugh at the idea that someone can avoid pronouns and still speak English, but that's because you're speaking, well, English. Their side has their own language.

Your definition of chaotic evil doesn't match what's in my Player's Handbook. Chaotic means you don't follow the rules, which means you would rather keep posting about anal beads in chess tournaments in all of the threads where such discussion does not belong, rather than making a thread for it. That's lawful evil, or neutral evil at best. (Lawful evil here - there are rules, and my job is to figure out how to use them to best benefit myself.)

edit to add a relevant tweet, since this is the twitter thread and I gotta follow the rules!

He argues that they just pulled the story out of their (err, his) ass.

Well, for now, they are just sitting on the evidence against him.

It seems a bit Freudian to have a bunch of guys discussing the use of vibrating anal beads.
