Same, I had Rodgers going next.

Potter to Chelsea is the word. It's quite the step up from Brighton. Moreover, it means having an English manager back in the top 6. If there was one around maybe in that category--maybe that is--he'd be it.

I had Gerrard as next on my list, then Rodgers. Tuchel was barely top 5.

Leicester are too cheap to fire him

If Rodgers is out, I'd like to see him try his hat outside the UK. Bologna need a manager. Decent club with moderate ambitions and who enjoy a good show of football. Monza, Cremonese and Lecce are likely to get relegated, so it would be hard to screw that one up.

I don't think Potter is gonna take that job. Not without some guarantees. He doesn't get another crack at coaching a top top team. Given the expectations at Chelsea and the mismatched squad and the fact that he won't have a preseason, the pressure will be on him right away.

Maybe he does take it but I think he'll tell them yes. In the summer.

Buddy of mine wants Chelsea to hire Vieira and I disagree. I don't want to lose the Palace vibes.

I honestly think this was a stupid idea. They backed him in the market, the least they could have done was give him a few months to integrate the signings.

One thing that would be hilarious is if they do appoint Potter and he doesn't want Auba as his striker and Auba will be on the outs... again.

It's nice to feel schadenfreude about another top team, even if only for a minute...

Vieira is probably bidding his time to takeover at Arsenal, City or PSG. I would think anyways.

How much further can Potter take Brighton? And how many bites at the apple can he get like this? If things don't work out at Chelsea, he'll likely land on his feet again elsewhere in the England.

Upcoming managers get 1, maybe 2 cracks at a "big" job. If they don't deliver what's generally accepted as success in those attempts, they rarely get another shot, especially within that country.

For Potter, taking this opportunity is not about his Brighton ceiling, but about being strategic in when he accepts that opportunity. Chelsea would be a big mistake at this time. They have some large squad gaps, an insane schedule coming up, no opportunity to supplement with his players and zero pre season. That's a recipe for disaster.

He'd be far better off with his career waiting for a chance to roll around in April - June at a big club. His "rising star" isn't going anywhere for awhile.

He has absolutely nothing to lose by staying at Brighton for the season. Full control over the club, and a team that embodies his philosophy... Not a bad gig. I'd bet they will finish top half and he will have a number of offers available to him next season. Fingers crossed he does what is best for his long term success and shoots them down. Then Chelsea will likely go with Poch or an interim until someone else becomes available after the World Cup.

I think Napoli might win big today against Liverpool. Already 1-0 down after 5 minutes and Napoli are coming at them.

It easily could be 2 or 3 for Napoli. We should get cracking on signing Osimhen.

Oshimen is a beast. Napoli should be 3-0 up now.

2-0 now. Joe Gomez having a nightmare. Klopp better haul him off quickly.

Make it 3-0 before the half. IMO Klopp has stop playing the high line and get a little practical with his approach. His midfield isn't cut out to cope with his demands ATM. VVD is distracted (probably trying to keep himself fresh and available for the WC). Mane is a big loss.

BTW Napoli missed a penalty and had a lot of chances. Could have been worse for Liverpool.

This is what I was trying to say. Thought Frank would be out long before tuchel would ever be a candidate for the axe. I just think it ironic that tuchel of all people got sacked before Frank did.

But good call y'all on Rodgers don't know how he is still there. I fear Leicester could free fall out of the prem.

Kvaratskhelia on Napoli is such an interesting player. Seemed to come out of nowhere and he has already had a few golazos this season. Only 21! Love to see it.
