Draw takes places tomorrow August 25th at 12 PM EST / 5 PM Portugal time. Sporting CP is in Pot 3. Possible opponents for us:
BREAKING Sporting in Group D with Eintracht Frankfurt and Tottenham EDIT: Marseille from Pot 4 Frankfurt Tottenham Sporting Marseille
Very even group. We lucked out in the first 2 pots but got the toughest team from Pot 4. Anything could happen.
They got 2 powerhouses but a weak team. They should get 3rd. i'm worried with ours we could easily get 2nd or 4th if we crap the bed. Porto also has an unpredictable group.
Benfica has been getting shitty weak ass groups for years now, even after they've had to go through the qualifying rounds to qualify. About time they get a tough group. Super stoked about our group this year. Awful time to sell Nunes.
Definitely possible for Sporting to advance out of this, but the club needs a few additions and to hopefully be injury free when these fixtures come about. Getting OM in pot 4 stinks.
Also gotta remember the CL group is squished together, its gonna be games every week because of World Cup.
Hopefully after yesterdays draw Varandas and Co. realize the potential to get out of group stage and bring in a couple of key pieces to the team. Also, maybe CR7 is looking at the group and thinking to himself he can contribute big time.
Frankfurt routed Leipzig 4-0 at home, I watched some of the game and they ran their socks off, pressing high and really fast build up play. We're gonna have a tough time and will need to be really compact otherwise they're gonna tear us apart.
Can't go there playing like we're facing Rio Ave at home, lines have to be closer together and sat deeper, try to spring counter attacks.
I'm a bit confused by the betting odds for this match. They currently have Frankfurt to win at double your money odds, and Frankfurt to win by more than one at quadruple your money. No offence but aren't y'all expected to get smashed here? A Portuguese team away in Germany is almost always a cagou special. Maybe I'm missing something here cause the oddsmakers seem to believe you have a good shot at winning this.
To gather your opinions on how you think the match will go to determine if I betting big on Frankfurt is poor judgment on my part
