Not very high if I’m honest, I just feel that many of our players are not on top form currently and probably haven’t ever since the Euro’s. Others may disagree but we just seem to have a lack of spark which could result in us struggling to get out of the group.
For Me I feel like the most likely exit is agitated one of the Group A teams in the first knockout round. I am tipping Germany to be the best UEFA side but Brazil or Argentina could pip them for the trophy.
In both tournaments under Southgate so far we've been significantly better then the pre-tournament games would have suggested. Still, I don't see that being enough and I don't see us getting any closer to a trophy than the last World Cup.
I'm expecting quarter finals defeat to France. Tbh I don't think we will win a world cup I'm my lifetime. Which is mental because a football country the size of England should always be I'm the mix. How the Germans Italians French Brazilians argies etc have won so many world cups yet we fail to gey close perplexes me. Its partly down to the selfishness of the epl and also the fa's ignorance in developing better technical players. Yes that's changing a lot over the last few years but we still don't develop midfielders who can control games. That's the key. Until that happens nothing will change
A new president at the Iranian Football Federation might mean a change in manager - With less than three months to go before the World Cup starts, a campaign is underway to oust Iran's national team’s Croatian manager, Dragan Skocic. But will veteran Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz be replacing him?https://t.co/5UVPGTFXeA— Middle East Eye (@MiddleEastEye) August 31, 2022
He was Iran’s manager for years before. Will be the third job he has returned for a second stint if he does go back.
Kante is injury prone. They have plenty of options but pogba and kante are a level above some of the others. The real made duo camavinga and tchouameni are good but unproven.
The @USMNT play England in Qatar in a repeat of a 2010 World Cup fixture. 🏴 🇺🇸The match finished 1-1 after @Rob1Green gifted @clint_dempsey an equalizer. 🎁The pair revisit that moment for the first time and Deuce explains why the goal was so emotional. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/IVdGPS1PHp— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) September 7, 2022

Jordan Pefok for Union Berlin across all competitions this 2022/23 season! 🇺🇸Is he the biggest omission from the September roster? pic.twitter.com/heAEYZqpKi— FOX Soccer (@FOXSoccer) September 18, 2022 Union Berlin are top of the Bundesliga, and American forward Jordan Pefok is big reason why. The US might have finally found a goal threat for the WC. Obviously still big favorites against them, but they are a pretty decent team. They should be favorites against Wales and Iran no question at this point if they arrive healthy to Qatar. Boggles my mind why people rate the Welsh so highly tbh, especially with a bang average midfield and terrible keepers. Also a big part of Union Berlin's success is Surinamese forward, Sheraldo Becker. Who'd have thought it would be a CONCACAF strike partnership that would have them up at the top of the table? The growth of the region has been apparent in these past couple years.
Wales C team drew with the USA less than 2 years ago, with an even more bang average midfielder, against a team not far off USA 1st team (especially midfield) I’m not sure why you’d be so confident you’ll beat them.
I'm not American mate, I'm an expat in Pennsylvania in the US. I support England and want to thrash the Yanks to rub it my friend's faces. Just giving my thoughts. I'm pretty sure they played that friendly against Wales without a striker and they gave out 20 new caps, with some academy players getting game time. On watching both US and Wales, I think the average US team beats the average Welsh team. While most US players aren't in great form, I could say the same for Wales. I truly don't understand what quality people see in Wales to put them as favorite over US and Iran, especially when the US is a more talented team, and Iran is very consistent with an underrated forward in Taremi and a good setup with Queiroz back.
Don't misunderstand me, I don't think the US will thrash Wales at all, but I'm not convinced Wales will amount to much.
