This game made me understand why AC Milan and even Pep thought he was worth a go. He wouldn‘t have played all that regularly for those teams so I am glad he stayed at Fulham He is gonna get a chance to play for a pretty good squad next contract. Whether a much improved Fulham or someone else.
Yep, amazing how different career choices end up working (or not working). Playing the in championship last year and getting 90 minutes, tons of confidence, has really paid off. Who knows if he would have played at (was it AC Milan?). Or even if they didn't get relegated he may not have played in the PL that year. Love this kid.
I don‘t even think it was just last year. He was in a place where he could compete and learn even before then with Fulham. Has had a lot of playing time, Period. We are seeing those benefits now, and the growth that comes with it.
Something I noticed in these (and recent) highlights, Robinson still has a strong preference for using his left foot (and moving left), but now he seems more comfortable moving/cutting right and using his right foot when necessary. Keeps the opponents (more) honest.
Won't change anything in the short-term. Kurzawa played 9 minutes last season. Long-term? Will be interesting.
Yeah, I am kinda surprised there haven't been more rumors swirling about Robinson going to a bigger club this last transfer window. He seems ready for a step up.
I‘m OK with it. He is on a team that knows him and values him. If Fulham can go back to being a mid table team I‘m if he stays. What I think he has now done is make himself a true transference target for a team if Fulham goes down, or just continues to scrape by. Fine by me.
Robinson starts again for Fulham today in a visit to Tottenham. Your Fulham XI! 🤍#TOTFUL pic.twitter.com/wuerq8NCao— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) September 3, 2022
Could have chosen any YA EPL Thread... but I have noticed that the games on Peacock do not show the scores of the other games at the top of the screen.... unlike what we see on USA and NBC. As such, I have decided to watch all my games on Peacock. For the life of me I don't understand why these networks have spoiler scores and announcers even going as far as telling the audience who scored. We all have phones... we all have the internet. One google search will give you that info. All it does is spoil it for those of us who watch multiple games on replay.
Antonee Robinson has been substituted today in the 28th minute due to injury. Not watching, so I can't say what exactly happened.
Looked to be strained/sprained outside ankle ligaments on his right foot while planting for a cross. He tried to run it off but was substituted shortly after.
did not look good when it happened - let’s hope it is just a mid level sprain and not a tear. That right foot was planted and his ankle just rotated like on a swivel.
Tolkin and Vines.... I like these guys but they are a big step down at this point of their careers. Yikes. Qatar is not that far off.
Honestly it’s good that it happened now, 11+ weeks from Qatar. Folks aren’t internalizing that a relatively normal injury (like this appears to be) happening within a couple weeks of the tournament essentially finishes your WC. Now, maybe it’s an awful sprain and it’s a 3 month injury — hard to say after seeing it….but it seems more likely than not that he’ll be back with plenty of time (and could even be 2-4 weeks out only).
Hopefully day to day and will be ready for Chelsea game next week per Silva but he doesn't know yet how serious it is. Silva had a tough comment on Robinson's replacement Mbabu lol. https://theathletic.com/3563567/2022/09/03/fulham-usmnt-marco-silva-antonee-robinson/
Fulham boards are ripping Mbabu for his play- a significant drop off from Jedi. To be fair, he’s not a left back so it was a tough assignment. No one knows when ‘Zawa will be ready, but if Jedi is out for a bit here that will create an opening for Kurazawa to try to claim the spot. Seems unlikely as he hasn’t played a match in a year, but Fulham fans seem split over which of the two is a better long term prospect.
Aside from Chelsea they’ve got a good number of easier opponents to rack up points and stay away from any relegation conversation.
Quiet inside the saloon at the Mos Eisley! Fulham play Forest on Friday, so hopefully Silva will update everyone on Antonee's status as of his Thursday press conference. And Friday will be just short of two weeks since he suffered the injury (September 3).
https://theathletic.com/3594691/2022/09/14/antonee-robinson-injury-update/ “It’s not really serious,” he added of the injury. “We are testing every day to see how he feels. The feedback that I received from the medical staff is that it could be in one or two days that he could be ready to go again. He doesn’t feel really comfortable yet. But I think it will be soon.”
Glad he wasn't called up. He's had a lot of minutes and the whole "oh, it's only a few days, he's not comfortable yet" often turns into a few more days and a few more days and then oh oops, the guy needs surgery.
