Seems to make sense but is really nothing but speculation at this point.

    US Open Cup Committee: "LOLNOPE"

"At its meeting last week, U.S. Soccer’s Open Cup Committee made the difficult decision not to hold the tournament’s previously planned Opening Round, which was scheduled for May 4-5. The Committee cited the challenges still in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic given the competition is played across the country involving clubs from multiple professional and amateur divisions and leagues. The tournament is now structured to feature 16 teams which will play four rounds in pursuit of the 2021 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup title.

Following a Championship Board of Governors meeting, it was voted upon that the four Eastern and Western Conference Finalists from the 2020 USL Championship Season would represent the league in the adjusted 2021 competition.

In addition, through a League One Board of Governors vote on Wednesday, 2020 League One Title-winner Greenville Triumph SC would be the league’s representative."

Looking forward to a potential Earthquakes match-up. They schooled us in a preseason scrimmage but I think a UOC match could be competitive. Kind of depends on how the 'quakes are approaching the competition. Conserve players for the regular season or use the competition to salvage what will likely be another disappointing season.

Very entertaining game tonight. Best game atmosphere we've had in quite a while.

I think that Sac-Town heat got to The Quakes. Look on that Roro Goal. The Quakes totally gave up on that play & Roro said, "Thank you very much"

Should be a great atmosphere. The place went nuts when we scored against SJE. I can only imagine what a win against SKC would be like.

I imagine now that SKC is in the semi's they'll put out a mostly first team squad.

Yep, they are having a terrible year. No doubt this is something that they will want.

Didn't realize they're in the running for the wooden spoon. Definitely a chance to win - we're due.

Finals would be tougher, Orlando and NYRB are having decent seasons.

So, should I maybe consider coming back down off the Doom Ledge?

Going wild with 11,568 of your closest soccer friends is a pretty good alternative.
