    I hope they will use a C squad or u20 players and agree with 0 - 0... I don't wanna see anyone get injured with WC ahead. I hope they are aware of that and smart

    PSG has basically opened the door for Neymar to leave. When asked about their plans with regards to Neymar, Al-Khelaifi said "Neymar part of the new project or not? We can't speak about this in public as some players will arrive, some players will leave the club. These are private negotiations". He also said the bling-bling era is over (clear reference to Neymar's style on and off the field).

    In the past they'd say he is non-negotiable. Neymar on the other hand says he wants to stay and has activated an option to extend his contract for another year till 2026 (he has yet another option next year another extension till 2027).

    How this affects us ? Well, it looks like Neymar will stay and PSG can't anything about it. I just wonder if his playing time will be cannibalized in the first half of the season pre-WC even being benched. Would be a ballsy move from PSG but not out of the realms of possibilities. Specially if they want to (yes, a bit of conspiracy here) mess with our chances of winning the WC and benefit France. Qatar are knee deep in France after all.

    I feel like they've been open to negotiating him before, and not just when he tried to make his back to Barcelona. It does feel a bit different this time, but I don't think it's a given that he'll move. For one, who's going to pay for him?

    As for what it means for us, losing playing time would hurt.

    Would it be enough to put Neymar on the bench and make Paqueta/Raphinha/Vini/Richarlison the default and Neymar the alternative? That could work in our favor if Neymar is willing and considering that with 5 subs he can still have a regular impact.

    I don't think Qatar would pick France over Brazil though if they had to pick a team for the final, even considering their involvement in French football. I imagine their dream final is Brazil x France, but between the 2, a final with Brazil generally gets more hype.

    Reportedly the preliminary list can have 55 players. Not sure if it has to be 55 or if it is up to 55.

    Either way, that will lead to some silly discussions among pundit shows, where they'll now spend time deciding if the 5th right-back listed actually has a shot or not. Fagner will almost certainly be on the list as a back-up.

    A couple of articles/features worth posting recently:

    https://ge.globo.com/futebol/futebo...firme-na-recuperacao-de-lesao-no-joelho.ghtml

    Veríssimo is back to Benfica for recovery in the pre-season but isn't expected to play until September according to this. I thought he would be ready by the beginning of the season but this makes me very pessimistic about his return. Looks unlikely to be called up in September and that makes an October WC call-up unlikely.

    Tite was on the 6a estrela podcast (globo esporte) today. I haven't listened yet but the quote that's making the rounds early is:

    https://ge.globo.com/blogs/blog-do-...s-e-elogia-ele-nao-e-problema-e-solucao.ghtml

    Danilo has been getting some press time too. Recently was on an internet podcast and today was on Bem, Amigos:

    PSG stated they won't have Neymar for the 2022-2023 season.

    What a soap opera his time at PSG has been . He leaves Barca after just renewing . Wants to go back less that 2 years in and Qatar says no . Now he wants to stay but they are kicking him off . Terrible mismanagement of a career. His time in the spotlight at the world stage looks about done .

    Still don't see Neymar going anywhere. Reports are that he is calm, not in a rush and focused on the WC. At most, it would be some sort of loan. But he ain't risking WC chances by going to a new environment 3 months before it starts.

    Already there is at least one person reporting that not only is PSG willing to loan, they're willing to pay his salary during the loan spell. Might be BS, but as you said, he is not in a hurry to go anywhere and I guess if someone is willing to do that he can pick and choose.

    Oh no ... I think they definitely want to offload him one way or another for this season already. I just don't believe Neymar will go. He has to approve either move after all. Unless he gets the message that they are going to bench him for the first 3 months which would be bad for his form. PSG might make the coach make that decision as a footballing one (as in he doesn't fit the system I want to play). But not sure PSG would go that far.

    Marcelo Bechler had a good summary of the situation and he seems to think that if Neymar can't be offloaded, it's not like they'll just not play him. He'll play for PSG if he stays.

    And if he moves, I can't imagine any team that brings him in not using him as a key player.

    Great memories !! But I have to say, that was such a weak WC ! Given that the favorites Argentina and France got KOed in group stage, Italy and Spain who had good teams got robbed, and Germany was really average (and we played them with no Ballack) ... it was really our obligation to win that WC. England on paper was the toughest team we played but they "amarelaram" like usual. The players always say that Belgium and Turkey were tough, but had we lost to them it would have been considered a national humiliation. Not gonna complain, but the red carpet was really laid out for the Penta in that WC.

    Raphinha -> Barcelona
    Jesus -> Arsenal
    Richarlison -> Tottenham

    I think those transfers are all good news for us. I expect Raphinha to quickly adapt at Barça and the 2 EPL players should have immediate impact at their clubs too since they already know the league.

    Jesus will likely get more playing time, more goals and more confidence. Richarlison will likely not be a starter in the beginning considering Kane - Son - Kulu, but now that Spurs are playing in so many leagues/cups and you have the confirmed 5 subs in EPL, I expect a key role for him too.

    In regards to the on-going negotiations, curious to see whether Paqueta - Arsenal and Antony - Man Utd will end up happening. Also hope that Dani Alves don’t find a decent club at all so that Tite can finally give up on bringing such an old RB to a high-intense competition.

    The Brazil jersey for WC 2022 was leaked earlier on footyheadlines. More recently a new leak has come out with an updated yellow jersey but with the same blue jersey that was leaked earlier. I won't say a word, judge for yourselves:

    [IMG]

    But I will, I hope the blue jersey isn't that one. The yellow jersey changed from the previous leak to now, hopefully the blue one does too.

    With Copa do Brasil in action this week Cléber Xavier is at the Maracanã observing Flamengo x Atlético Mineiro.

    https://ge.globo.com/futebol/seleca...ao-maracana-para-flamengo-x-atletico-mg.ghtml

    Other notes from this and other articles:
    • TAS is expected to make a final ruling on the Brazil x Argentina "clássico da Anvisa" by Friday
    • In August the coaching staff will be observing matches in Europe (call-up expected in early September according to ge, based on that I guess Sep 7/8)
    • 55 name preliminary list for the World Cup is due October 21
    • 26-name final list is due November 14 (WC starts Nov 21, our first game is Nov 24)

    I saw the same leak on the blue one today. Grotesque stuff if true. Should be a training jersey.

    Picture can be deceiving, but the yellow one looks fluorescent yellow. Last time we had that tone was around 2004.

    Have you guys seen the England and Portugal jerseys? They are horrible - Portugal is beyond horrible tbf.

    Well ... we did win 94 and 02 with fluorescent yellow jerseys. So perhaps it's a good sign. Personally, I am biased towards the canarinho yellow. The 94 jersey was bright but well with light blue shorts. I have that jersey in my "collection". The material sucks because it was before dry fit. The 02 jersey was terrible looking IMO.

    Running out of ideas on how to make different designs. If we had more people here we could do a vote on our jerseys over the years.

    So, what I thought was the deadline for CAS (or TAS in Portuguese) to render a verdict on the Anvisa match was just the deadline for CBF to inform them whether they would file an appeal.

    CBF has decided to file an appeal and have until July 25 to submit their case.

    https://ge.globo.com/futebol/seleca...-esporte-e-tem-10-dias-por-novo-recurso.ghtml

    Not sure how long after that it will take for the decision to be made, but the longer this takes, the worse it is for planning the September matches.
