According to this article in Hebrew, El Yam was born in Hawaii and does hold US citizenship. https://m.ynet.co.il/articles/bjpisc999
DW target Zak Swanson has moved to Portsmouth in League One: It's a permanent 😉✍️ #Pompey have completed the signing of Zak Swanson from @Arsenal for an undisclosed fee— Portsmouth F(C) 🏆 (@Pompey) July 4, 2022 Still no confirmation of his Yank-ness.
I've never heard back from anyone on the rather long list of folks I've reached out to about this, which is (I'm guessing) a sign that he's not American. Some recent coverage of his latest move has said he was born in England, though none of it citing an interview or anything direct that I've seen. I guess anything's possible but I'm thinking this was some kind of false alarm and that this isn't the Florida Man we thought it might be.
Here's another possible dual Yank who just popped up: New American abroad! Zachary Parpel is a 16 year old midfielder with SK Slavia Prague U19's in the Czech Republic. Slavia Prague is one of the most famous and popular clubs in the Czech Republic and have been in the Champions League 13 times. Zachary is a Czech-American dual nat.— micah w (@micahw1718) July 19, 2022 Zachary Parpel Date of birth: Sep 10, 2005 Age:16 TM says he is dual US-Czech: https://www.transfermarkt.us/zachary-parpel/profil/spieler/1034739 He's listed with the SK Slavia Prague U19 alongside Yank Alex Wesolowsky. @PhillyFury might be able to help us get a confirmation. His club profile only lists Czech under nationality: https://www.slavia.cz/player?id=3279
Another from the same source: New American abroad! Eric Topor is a 17 year old GK who has recently left the U19s of AKS SMS Lodz to join the first team of Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza who were just relegated from the Polish first division. Eric was born in the United States and is a Polish-American dual nat.— micah w (@micahw1718) July 19, 2022 Eric Topor DOB: Feb 12, 2005 Goalkeeper TM profile: https://www.transfermarkt.us/eric-topor/profil/spieler/1031510
Was looking into this one recently but couldn't pin it down. (I'm guessing we're all chasing the same summer Transfermarkt updates...) However, this short item on 90minut, which I consider authoritative, also says he's American; you inspired me to search that site. I'd say we can roll with it. http://www.90minut.pl/news/320/news3205377-Eric-Topor-pilkarzem-Bruk-Betu-Termaliki.html
I was looking at Augsburg's U-17 roster (saw the tweet from Marcus Chairez about Franz Bleicher), and ran across a player named Noahkai Banks. Nationality is listed as American on TM. FBREF says born in the U.S. Do we know anything more about this player? https://fbref.com/en/players/118e3ac3/Noahkai-Banks https://www.transfermarkt.us/noahkai-banks/profil/spieler/923945 EDIT: Nevermind, saw that Chuck started a thread on him already. I didn't find him because I searched for his name as one word, but Chuck spelled it as Noah Kai.
On a side note, I noticed Marcus' tweets and found threads for the players already here on BS. Seems he just needs to hang around here.
Yeah, I replied to one of his tweets awhile back and encouraged him to join up, but he was reluctant to start and maintain a presence on another platform. Too bad too, he would make a great addition to BS. Maybe I should give him another nudge.
T'Markt says an '06 named Noah Levis with Olympiakos is American-Finnish. https://www.transfermarkt.de/noah-levis/profil/spieler/1036167 He was recently involved with a Finnish YNT. (cc @BostonRed) https://www.palloliitto.fi/ajankohtaista/u17-pojat-nimetty-pm-turnaukseen There was a player apparently connected with the Oakwood club in the U.S. with that name. https://www.hudl.com/profile/10083143/noah-levis
Pretty sure this is the same guy T'Markt now says is at Alzenau's U19s. https://www.transfermarkt.de/a-schulz/profil/spieler/902995
T'Markt says an '05 named Luka Popovic with the U19s of NK Rudes is American-born. https://www.transfermarkt.de/luka-popovic/profil/spieler/1045526 Sees to match with a guy who was recently at Gottschee and apparently then went to Dinamo Zagreb. http://www.ussoccerda.com/sam/standings/ss/view_game_report.php?eventId=6579031&teamId=12549900 https://www.facebook.com/BlauWeissG...dPs7r7cLpRJwjmMxG7AXiUiACHtFxcsydjRoqFq5C2cBl
Marcus Chairez asked on Twitter about the eligibility of an '05, Nicolas Rincon. I didn't see mention of him anywhere on BigSoccer, so I thought I would post here. @ussoccer97531 replied and said it looks like he's been in the US since age 15. Looks like he's been in the USA since age 15. Wouldn't be eligible yet, unless he already had citizenship, but could become one.— USMNTProspects (@ProspectsUsmnt) August 23, 2022
One of the few potential YAs to be an inventor on a patent: https://patents.google.com/patent/US10814214B1/ Alas, patent applicants are no longer required to provide citizenship information.
Sky Krzysztofiak, currently at Sprockhovel in Germany, is listed as a German-US dual nat on transfrmarkt. Facebook has him being from Washington DC, not much info on him out there https://www.transfermarkt.com/sky-krzysztofiak/profil/spieler/698974
Kinda looks like what you'd get if you asked your AI to generate a young dual Yank player and club name.
This (German) article says he's American and has left TSG Pfeddersheim. https://www.fupa.net/news/drei-abgaenge-bei-der-tsg-pfeddersheim-2888483
His name has popped back up: 🇺🇸 born winger Santiago Rodriguez on the bench for Instituto in 🇦🇷 2nd tier action #USMNT https://t.co/DfG6pIDjex— USMNT burner (@burnerusmnt) September 4, 2022
I'm pretty sure this is the brother of Roi Moskowitz who is with Charlotte Independence. At the very least they follow each other on Instagram and had very similar career paths. Roi has repped the USA at the Maccabi Games in the past.
Wow, this is a funky one. Isn't this the guy whose T'Markt profile used to say he was born in a place called Arizona? That seemed promising, but there's an Arizona in San Luis, Argentina. I figured it was a Romone Rose situation. And now his profile there says he's born in San Luis, doesn't mention Arizona, and still says he's American. And his agent's web site also says he's American. (His IG seems to allude to the non-American Arizona; of course, that's not the only way he might theoretically be American.) https://lescovich.com.ar/portfolio/santiago-rodriguez/ https://www.transfermarkt.us/santiago-rodriguez/profil/spieler/439437 https://www.instagram.com/santir11/?hl=en I dunno! (And probably won't be able to look into it further today.)
I now have it on good authority that Santiago Rodriguez was indeed not born in the U.S., so if the source of his claim to YA-ness was birthplace, I think we can once again scratch him off the list.
Another Micah W. find. Not to be confused with 28-year old Taiwanese player of the same name. New American abroad! Tim Chow is a 16 year old RB, currently with Hong Kong Football Club. The 🇭🇰🇺🇸 dual nat has just made the bench for the first time on September 4. He is a youth international with Hong Kong U17— micah w (@micahw1718) September 8, 2022
