I don't honestly mind playing against Brazil, but I really wish the team played the game in Europe. It's going to lower the chances of playing against a good non-Conmebol team in September.
I think Brasil wants the game moved as well, so they could line-up another friendly in Europe. It is difficult having a team come to SA, and then the teams has to travel again to Europe, Asia, Africa and even NA to play another friendly.
At this point, its meaningless game. The only thing you could possibly get by playing them 1-2 months before the WC would be an injury. That and giving them better preparation id they face us in WC, like Germany always did.
Even after winning the CA and finishing unbeaten in the qualifiers, it was all about France, England, Spain and even Brasil. But over the last few weeks, after mopping the floor with the sorry Tanos, it has become “await a second, this Argentina side is pretty good…” This is more of the European and US media. The ones in SA have been pretty consistent. But I guess, we will take it. There will be some tricky games but I do not see why we should not make a deep run. I know there are your fair share of haters, who have not watched us play consistently over the last couple years, and only see names rather than a cohesive unit who will say “ADM is old, Otamendi is a walking disaster and etc…” But they’re going to get big surprise waiting for them. Believe you me,’my friend, believe you me…
So, some transfer news. It appears Alario might be staying in Germany, where Frankfurt are interested in signing him up. A bit strange that he chose to stay in Germany. I guess, his time with the national is probably over. He never became that 20-25 goal scorer but I do not think that was in him. He was just a big game player who would score crucial goals. Enzo Fernandez to Benfica also appears to be done. He will stick around with River until Dec. I personally do not like these types of moves. If he’s going to go, he needs to go now. He’s basically waisting a season, where he could be in Europe. He should be in summer camp, where he is around his new teammates and coaching staff. Dybala to Inter. It was reported that a done was pretty much done and then Lukaku transfer put things on hold. But it appears, they make move along the transfer. Dybala is eager to make a move but his options are very limited. Real Madrid were looking at him, allegedly, but they need to sell off some players. Atletico are in the same boat. Sevilla want him but they can only offer him 3ME per. Roma are really desperate to get him but Dybala wants to be the CL and Milan are also waiting to see what is going on with Inter. Money might be a issue, I think Inter offered 8ME, which Dybala gave the okay but again, Inter need to dump Alexis, Dzeko and maybe even Tucu. I have to say this. If Dybala wants to be at Qatar, he needs to go to Inter. Even if Inter tell him 6ME, I think he probably has to do it. He already makes a ton of money from endorsements, and he’s got nearly 50 million followers on Instagram. So, perhaps the extra couple million is not going to break him.
What about Angelito? Seems like he hasnt found new club yet... Its important for him to stay sharp few months leading up to the WC considering how important he has been under Scaloni.
It's pretty sad to see Enzo being sold for such a paltry fee. There is no doubt he'll leave Benfica for double or more the fee Benfica are paying River. Clubs need to have higher release clauses to avoid being short changed as well as selling on clauses. Young Etcheverri who looks like Riquleme only quicker needs along with the likes of Simon large clauses slapped into their contracts. Penarol received some six million for Nunez. Now Benfica get 100M. No wonder clubs in CONMEBOL are miffed and poor relatively speaking to those in Europe.
I’ve been saying this for sometime. Clubs need to slap on a 30-35ME release tag on young players with any talent. I sense clubs feel like they would not get any buyers but clubs need to hold firm. It is a game of chicken, and our clubs should not blink first.
Its amazing that Argentina beat Brazil and Italy when there's trophy at stake , these people still aint convince but when big teams from Europe having strings of terrible game like England and France just did, they'd find all kind of excuses. Especially when it comes to England. Take a look at other section of this board, they're calling Nations league competitive until the big teams gets beaten by minor sides, then they'd say its just friendlies. If Argentina lose a friendlies, it would be use as barometer of our true performance lol
At this point, I honestly couldn't give a crap about the rankings. Who cares? the groups for the WC are set and our only concern should be to focus on the final 26 players. (I do find it funny that Mexican't were bounced of the top 10)
Happy birthday to Messi! Best ever! He celebrated with a party and the pic is basically the scaloneta gang + pastore, lol
By the end of the year I hope we can add another image to the centre of that. Skriniar looks to be on his way to PSG. Could be the chance for Senesi to move from Feyenoord to Internazionale. ten Haag is in contact with Licha Martinez and his representatives to get him to Manchester United. Remember some of the high hopes we had for the centrebacks of yesteryear. Alan Franco of Independiente is moving back from the MLS to Talleres. While Santiago Mingo is currently without a club having been released by Barcelona. As is Jose Mauri.
So, with Dybala. It appears that his agent, Jorge Antun, is one of the primary reasons why the deal to Inter is not happening. It is being reported that he wants a 8 ME commission to himself for the deal to finalize. I remember that in past that Paulo’s brother was his representative, now this guy, (who is apparently new at sports management and a former used car salesman) is in charge of representing Paulo. It does appear that Dybala surrounds himself with a bunch of clowns who have no idea what they’re doing. Sure, the return of Lukaku and other aspects, such as Alexis and Dzeko not willing to take a pay cut to leave and the same with Tucu is causing the deal to stagnate. Inter need to basically sell off a couple players and loan out players like Alexis and Dzeko, where they’ll be forced to pay 50-60% of their wages for this to manifest. Lukaku is apparently going to make 8ME a year, which he is apparently taking a 30% cut to comeback to Inter. Dybala’s deal went from 8ME with bonuses to 6ME and 1 ME in bonuses if he plays certain amount of games and other quotas. Dybala is being patient, and wants to move to Inter. But Inter are looking inside of the mattress to find some loose change. It is also being reported that Tottenham offered 77ME for Lautaro, which Lautaro has no interest in moving.‘it would also defeat the purpose, at least for us to have Dybala and Lautaro playing together at club level.
Dibu proved he's great at stopping penalties himself but God forbid something happens to him maybe we should take Rossi as a backup because he's absolute beast at them. Never know when you might need that in a knockout game (see 1990 and 2006)
1990 was blessing in disguise considering Goycho proof to be a revelation for few years to come , but I dont see our other goalies this time topping Dibu's performance. Also one thing I noticed is that we tend to conceided even uf our goalie made a save , like against Ecuador in recent qualifier and against Chile in Copa opener. Scaloni needs to fix this. Our players should just make an instant clearence instead of trying to look at the ref hoping for offside call. The transfer saga for our players (Lautaro, Dybala, Di Maria) seems to going on forever. According to latest report Di Maria's deal to Juventus is done but still no official announcement yet or anything.
Well said. I concur. And, hey slugger, really sorry about Tampa Bay. I guess Chicago still remains the only real dynasty in the twenty-first century with 3 Stanley Cups in six seasons. But back to back is pretty good. And shout out to @cigar_city, wherever you are primo.
Well we got a couple more years to get that 3rd one! If only Point wasn't injured I really think we would've pulled it off this year. Just insane they got so close without their number one center and so many other injuries (guys with MCL sprains, Cirelli with BOTH shoulders messed up, etc.) Hockey players sure are a different breed of human. I forgot to post the penalty save last night that inspired that Rossi post. ¡ATAJÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓÓ ROSSI! 🧤🧤🧤🧤 pic.twitter.com/st3Qlwv9vF— Boca Jrs. What kind of picture is that? I can’t even see anything, lol. I just wish they went back to the older adidas logo, from 1990 or so. Plus, I do not understand why they do not make jerseys without collars anymore.
