Pretty sure Lo-Tutala was offered a contract by Spurs and he turned it down, so while its a surprise he's leaving its his decision.
Interesting. Would make more sense. Usually through clubs make sure when players leave and the club wanted them to stay thst is reported somewhere that they tried to keep them.
For a youth player? I don't think you'd see any communication through official channels. You certainly didn't for Noni Madueke and Reo Griffiths who both left at similar stages/circumstances.
You generally hear in the press about the club trying to get the player to sign before they leave etc.
🚨 Karamoko #Dembele new club to be announce over the next week. Agreement already in place! Exciting few years ahead! He's not a particularly high profile name (he's played less than a dozen games for Spurs U23s), I've hardly see anything in the English press (other than his name listed in Contract expirations) about his departure, after a quick google. I found this is what seems to be a reasonable reputable French site (and Youtube Channel) saying "The contract of Thimothée Lo-Tutala (19 years old) at Tottenham is about to expire and the young French goalkeeper, whom we presented to you a few months ago , will not extend at Spurs. However, the Londoners tried everything to retain him with several extension offers." https://www.footmercato.net/a477534...o-u19-avec-les-bleuets-avant-un-mercato-anime
I can’t see him opting out a certian World Cup appearance for Ghana when it’s not very likely he would be called up at this late stage to Qatar for England.
Anyone else think we've missed out on a good player in Brennan Johnson? I've just seen that his dad was a bit of a dual-nationality hoe though.
Never say never. Id say kane is the only certain striker on that plane at the moment. The other 2 spots are up for grabs. Maybe Abraham is 2nd but dcl and Watkins have definitely dropped off recently.
It just feels unlikely after Southgate said some of the kids if the squad won’t be ready until Euro 2024 for him to select someone else youngish only just getting established.
The Athletic say he has signed a five year deal with Palace. A good move for him I would say as Palace have a good record with young players in recent years.
If he bangs in the goals early and gets a good run of games, I wouldn't be surprised to see him picked. Only time will tell though.
Bit of an older one here - Clarke-Salter says he's eligible for Ireland and open to playing for them in the future. I'm interested in how he gets on in the future. I always thought there was a player in there and there wasn't much between him and Tomori, but seemed like he was just a victim of bad luck and the capricious nature of the loan system. https://theathletic.com/3382327/202...er-if-you-leave-you-can-still-achieve-things/
Quite contradictory to a degree, in one sentence he says he still has hope for an England call up and looks to Mings and Coady as inspirations but then in the next he’s basically said his Grandma was born in Ireland so he’s open to play for them. Well, I’m guessing Ireland are already lining up a call up in September or whenever the next set of Internationals are so really that ends that debate because he’s nowhere near an England call up.
The BBC mentioning how Patino is eligible for Spain makes me nervous. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61750684
He's a gonner. The fact that he's ever played for England is just circumstance in my opinion. Every interview he has ever given points to the fact that he had a Spanish upbringing and grew up watching Spanish football with their style of football. The minute he hits senior age, they will call him up and he will go. There's no English connection there apart from the fact he was born in the most non english town in England (Luton).
My mistake. Yeah I think they've tried to keep him sweet by making him captain etc but he is someone I think we will lose very easily and there will no convincing him to stay. Shame really, I think he will turn out to be a really good player.
I mean it all depends if Spain actually want him or need him as you have to remember Spain always churn out very good players. If he ends up England quality that doesn’t necessarily mean he will walk into Spains squad considering midfield isn’t an area they traditionally struggle with. I would actually think we have a better chance of keeping him than losing him at this stage.
Pretty sure I read somewhere that Spain have been after him and Azeez for a long time. I'm sure they'd be playing for Spain right now if they really wanted to. It's not like African heritage players where logistics are a barrier to them playing for their indigenous nations at youth level. I agree that we're more likely to keep him than not. The issue with Patino is that he seems to be very injury prone and a bit flaky in terms of bringing his best form. Personally I'm not expecting to see him play for Arsenal that much in the coming season. Unless there's been some credible word from the club that he will be, like with Cole Palmer at City?
Just read that Emre Tezgel agent said earlier this month his client would open to an approach from the Turkish football federation if they wanted to call him up. Not good news as Turkey are good at getting duals.
Yeah, isn’t half their squad German born Was going to write something else but then realised it will probably irritate some people but why is his agent trying to call out Turkey already? Was it this? BREAKINGEmre Tezgel’s manager:“We received no offers from Turkish teams. For Stoke City @EmreTezgel20 is valuable. Emre’s family is very open to consider offers from the Turkish National Team.”Emre Tezgel soon #MilliTakım 🇹🇷?@FHamitAltintop @KenanKocak_#StokeCity #SCFC pic.twitter.com/WPgpfWclhL— Turk Scout (@ScouTurk) June 5, 2022
