German Fraulein National Team 2020 & beyond

Discussion in 'Germany Mädels: NT and Frauen-Bundesliga' started by hotjam2, Feb 26, 2020.

  1. I think one of the reason behind the fast rise is something the other nations donot have. Mixed football available up till13 years old. So the girls are exposed to the same rigours as the boys in their formative soccer years.

Wasn't speaking about men and women within the general mainstream sports media, I was speaking about the "specialists" who get brought into the studio for special events, who help discussion flow pre, mid, and post match.

I know what the typical limited coverage for the Euro's looks like in the US, but for me it's always interesting to see the opinions of former USwnt players talking about a competition they begrudgingly have to respect, despite their own wnt not being allowed to compete...:giggle:

I'm intrigued to see US opinion regarding the condition the few wnt's they've previously viewed as a genuine rivalry. Will they be honest...

LOL.. decoding...:giggle: what needs to be decoded here...? They're using a well established Dutch 4-3-3, which is still an inferior version of the USwnt's 4-3-3 system.

There's NOTHING magical, or particularly enigmatic, about the accomplishments of the Netherlands, when their success has come within a power vacuum of European wnt football, that beyond the AFC with Japan, has just allowed the USwnt to go completely unchallenged at the WC for far too long.

Germany throwing their senior wnt off an ideological bridge, with both France, and Sweden, doing nothing to take the baton and finally move beyond the USA. All we see now is a mass of wnt's all tripping over their feet, falling further behind the USwnt every passing year...:cautious:

Germany has this system for girls too... it's not unique lol. Netherland's just established a senior team with a clear identity, benefiting from a far better implementation of player analysis, that allowed them to maximize their best players potential within a relatively small player pool.

Germany just won the U-17 Euro's with a team featuring various players still participating alongside boys. But their senior team has ZERO identity, and awful player analysis, that can't come close to maximizing the potential of it's far larger player pool.

Look at Jackie Groenen... moving to Germany in her teens, evolving into one of the true key factors behind her wnt winning a Euro's, then reaching a WC final. With Jones, then Hrubesch, and now MVT in control, if Groenen was ever part of Germany's program, she would be a complete non factor right now...:speechless:

  5. Seems like you're suggesting it's more a coaching than a players pool problem.

Hegering starts with Hendrich in a CB role, Oberdorf starts next to Däbritz in CM.

I imagine Popp will come in to the side for Magull, but beyond that... it's pretty much what most people would have predicted.

Oh no lol... it's still a 4-3-3...o_O Oberdorf isn't a pivot, and if this was the plan all along, I need to hear why Nüsken was left out..

1-0 Germany. Bühl with a neat finish after a great pass from Magull releases her to go 1v1 with the GK.

Yellow card for Magull for slipping and hurting herself.:speechless: Is this referee mad?

And now a clear penalty after a foul from Maritz on Rauch not given:mad:.

Assist Bühl - goal Magull 2:0.:thumbsup:

Strong wide play from Bühl, and it's 2-0. Magull with a first time near post finish.

    Well... 2-0 at HT.

I'll start by saying Germany's mid-field 3 is complete garbage lol... MVT still showing absolutely no idea how to construct a team from the best talents in her player pool.

Yet again it's simply individual moments happening around a whole bunch of nothing. It's all that's setting the tone for these players... no tempo, no one or two touch passing... just individual moments...:(

Good performance offensively from Germany so far. However, they really haven't been tested defensively this game much, which is a major question I have for them going into the Euro.

Wide play looks solid but Schuller really hasn't been involved in the game much, I'd much rather see Waßmuth going forward.

She needs service... the mid-field don't provide forward passes for her, meaning its all on the wide players to get her the ball inside the box.

They can try Waßmuth... but again, she still needs to receive the ball to become a goal threat.

For me she needs to drop and get the ball to hold up play sometimes, she plays too much on the shoulder for me. But yeah the midfield need to provide for her more especially Dabritz.

They way these players function within MVT's system, it's removed any real effectiveness from Oberdorf, and placed everything on the CB's to pass the ball forward, with both Däbritz and Magull even dropping deep at times to try and control tempo.

I fear what happens to this side once it faces another high tempo opponent featuring CM's not afraid to run with ball...:cautious:

After a strong break from Huth through the mid-field, Schüller misses her first and only chance on goal.

Like I said would happen, Anyomi comes on to play RB... Gwinn wasn't good, but how did Rall get left out so Anyomi could play FB...

Plus with her entering the match, I'd like to see Lattwein just play her normal Wolfsburg role now.

Well... it's 3-0 now. But in the little time she's been on the field, Lattwein's already made better forward passes than Däbritz's entire time in this match...:whistling:

Oberdorf being wasted, could be offset with a simple switch to Lattwein's positioning.

EDIT: And now it's 4-0 through another defensive error...
