approval to give up a percentage of those rights . Could have been worded as approval of sale of a percentage of those rights

It’s a short term ‘fix’ apparently

I love Xavi, but these recurring reports about his alleged pleas to the board to keep Dembele just make me cringe. Just let the man leave ffs. We look pathetic being desperate to give into Dembele’s demands after his disrespectful and unprofessional behavior at this club.

Unless he’s not allowed to contractually there’s probably a good reason he still has no agreement with any other club: none of them deem him worthy of what he’s asking for. At least not as of this very moment. Maybe Xavi thinks he can still turn him into a WC player. I really don’t know.

you can't really blame a coach for wanting to keep hold of his top assister. if dembele ends up signing on to the same terms that were offered back in december, that's a big win. signing raphinha is looking increasingly difficult, so re-signing dembele would allow us to invest more in other positions.

Agree to disagree. He really isn’t that good. He’s fast and he can cross a ball into the box as a result hoping someone can get to the end of it. Other than that his footballing IQ isn’t anything to write home about.

Definitely had a good finish to the season, likely fueled by the justified hate he was receiving from the Blaugrana faithful and maybe also knowing he had to show himself to potential suitors.

Even then he had games where he was blowing hot and cold. Add to that the disrespect and unprofessional behavior it’s a hard pass for me. He’s a man-child and I see nothing that has changed yet in that regard.

If he stays than I would love nothing more than for Xavi and him to prove me wrong of course because that’d mean that he has finally grown up and can fulfill the promise he’s had ever since we signed him which means silverware for us.

As of this moment though I cannot wait to see the back of him.

Given his history I feel if he were sign a new deal Dembele would injure himself while signing the contract.
If he stays I'll support him (and any others wearing the Blaugrana shirt), but I'd prefer he move on.

I guess Xavi is worried that no replacement will come. And between Dembele and nobody else replacing him ... then having Dembele would still be the better option.

This makes sense. But if he’s injured for the standard half of the season then I wonder how much of a better option he truly is getting paid and being a bench merchant.

Furthermore, if we can’t get any replacement it’s truly down to the ineptitude of this board. Dembele is far from being thàt irreplaceable.

Oh well. It’ll be interesting to see how this unfolds. Especially given the fact that Dembele has been publicly asked/pressured by the higher ups to leave this club asap. Which is why I’m saying that too much has happened and we’ll look like absolute muppets if he stays.

As regards Dembele ... there’s a lot of claims online that he’s not had ONE single offer from any other club

I guess he sees his stretch of being healthy these past 6 months as a sign he has overcome those problems. A gamble for sure.

Who would have guessed that ? Dembele trying to play the field and not accepting our first offer months ago is probably the stupidest move if true.

“You know that Lewandowski, Kounde, Raphinha, and Bernardo Silva will not come [to Barcelona]? You know that, don’t you?”

“I don’t buy the talk of Barcelona’s signings. They are blatantly selling smoke. What they say clashes with reality and I have no choice but to warn people that this is not going to happen.”

I can't say whether or not Barca will sign any of those players he mentions.

But at least this gives me an opportunity to re-post who this POS who has an axe to grind with Laporta is.

LMAO if true (and its not difficult to believe that it is true).

What's frustrating about this is that if Dembele was at another club this whole time and was about to become a free agent, he wouldn't even be on our radar (given his lack of productivity, his asking price and our financial troubles).

So why is he on our radar now? There isn't even the hope that he'll improve or that his attitude will be more positive because his environment wouldn't be changing.

    Regarding our defense.

News of Umiti’s possible departure makes me happy. Between him and Dembele I don’t know who’s exit I look forward to the most.

I hope to hear similar news regarding Lenglet soon.

We already have Christensen coming in and I really hope we can get Kounde. He looks great to form a partnership with Araujo for the next 10 years or so.

While the news of Alonso is anything but exciting I suppose he could be a very short-term back-up for Alba.

Azpi makes 0 sense as we already have Pique and the former isn’t apt to be our starter RB at 33 ffs. Our RB situation is concerning.

Koulibaly makes no sense as he won’t come here to sit on the bench for Kounde.

He's out of contract, right? So we can also tell him to stuff it.

Barca made a new offer for Lewa. 35m + 5. Bayern apparently has said no, but at least it's not a "he isn't going anywhere" message.

Just a reminder that the club needs to close the deal for TV and BLM rights by June 30th or else it won't be able to sign new players nor keep current ones. I am guessing Laporta already had some buyers lined up.
