I missed Charley's injury. Lots of cards in this one, but with all the complaining about injuries and referees early on in the season, this is likely what will happen (overcompensation by the official with the yellow card warnings).
2-2 between Chicago and Kansas City instead, and the Red Stars take the top, while waiting for today's San Diego Wave away match vs Gotham City. This league seems quite exciting and unpredictable to me: every week there is something new!
She had a yellow for encroachment on a free kick. It was a soft yellow, but so were many of the 8 yellow cards in the match (two to Rapinoe). The second was shortly after she was subbed out. We did not see or hear anything, but she had to have said something to the official, and was sent off to the locker room with a second yellow. It was not that the foul calls were wrong, she was just handing out so many yellow cards with them, that it was bound to catch up to someone and turn into a red card.
