I could see it, but for me Busio has more strengths and I think is as intelligent, but it's his more well rounded game that leads him to a more complex role on the field. Beckerman as a stay at home 6 who could occasionally find a killer pass was perfect for him, but he also wasn't asked to carry the ball, nor make runs into the box, etc, etc. Unlike Beckerman, whose value was only really appreciated later on in his career, Busio has been front and center since he was, what?, 16? Surprised he's still only 20!

It’s problematic for Italian clubs to loan high-wage players out of Italy. The Italian government gave huge tax incentives to clubs to sign expensive players to make Serie A more competitive. Those incentives are lost if the player is loaned for an extended period out of Italy. Sounds like a tough choice. Though, there's always the possibility of not signing an extension and getting loaned out for a fee. Though I'm not sure how many suitors in Serie A--or another league above Serie B anyway--who would take that offer, given it would likely not be a particularly cheap loan and they'd be getting a young player with some good experience but a mixed track record.

What a bizarre thing for Venezia to agree to. "Hey unproven/lightly proven kid...we'll pay 6 mil for you and if you don't help us stay up you can go elsewhere next year. Then, without your help, if we make it up you can play with us again in the big leagues. If not you can walk out again for another year, no questions asked." Am I reading that right? How many years was his contract again? If it's 3 they're insane. If it's 4 or 5 they're also insane.
Maybe Niederauer is a friend of Gianluca's family in Brescia. After all, he lives there (an hour drive from Venezia). Although those people don't really live anywhere, with all the real estate they got.

The Empoli link makes sense. They are managed by Paolo Zanetti who signed Busio before being sacked by Venezia in April.
I actually prefer Ajax. It would be great for his development, and he’d get plenty of good games. He’s be in as big a shop window as there is- maybe even more than some of those Italian clubs. Italy is tough gig no matter where and Incould see a lot go potentially wrong there
Sassoulo has proven to be a great place for young players to develop so that would be my preferred destination for Busio... now they don't always do well once they leave Sassoulo but that's a good clue to develop at
