For those wages and the eventual transfer fee, it’s a hard pass from me on Gnabry. Completely underwhelmed by that deal.

The third attacker simply has to be addressed. Rodrygo isn't a natural RW, has been really inconsistent starting, and really only "turned it on" in the past 2/3 months. I don't see the harm in buying a 34 year old stop-gap veteran in Lewandowski, and letting the youngster bleed himself in, or looking to Haaland in 2 years.

    Lewandowski
    Benzema
    Vinicius ------------------------------ Valverde
    Tchouameni - Camavinga
    Alaba - Rudiger - Militao - Carvajal
    Courtois
If we're married to the 4-3-3, the proven commodities would be Salah/Gnabry. Other names out there are quality, but either don't fit the RW position perfectly, or don't have the track record we'd be looking for (trying to avoid Jovic one season wonders).

I say snatch him up if he comes for Pennies. Way more pros than cons. Upside can be massive if he comes big and if he flops than you don’t lose much. His professionalism is worrisome tho.

I’m not at all comfortable going into next season with Rodrygo as our starting RW, he does very well as a super sub on that side but hardly puts in a memorable performance when he starts. He needs to have the same role as he’s had this season so far next year, mostly come off the bench for both the left and the right.

Hope we sign Gnabry, with him we’re going to get consistent goals from the right.

Same can be said about Doku and hes six years younger and highly professional. The injuries issue could be a normal thing for an explosive youngster that is still growing into his body (happened to Messi). Dembele is a superstar based on the fact that hes a Barca player who was bought for 105 million, hes a France international too, but he would likely demand a salary he doesn't deserve.

Personally, unless we can get our hands on Salah, I want Rodrygo as a starter. He earned his spot and it would be unfair that he isn't given a 'promotion' within the hierarchy after this season. With the confidence from that, he will be even better.

Benzema was absolutely terrible in a 2 striker system alongside Cristiano during 2016-2018. Benzema has consistently scored 30 goals+ or more for 4 straight seasons after Real Madrid went back to 4-3-3 system.

Why should Benzema accomodate for a worse player?

I reckon Lewa wants to join Barca to challenge RM next season in La Liga and improve his chances to win BDR in 2023. That won't happen if he joins Benz who's the BDR favorite this year. Romano and other reliable journalists said he's only focused on Barca and has already agreed 3 year deal after SER report came that Zahavi has offered him to RM.

I don't even know why I'm reading Cristiano, Salah, Lewa, etc..

Last summer many believed we needed something more than Vinicius on the LW. Either Hazard needed to be the starter or we needed to outsource.

    Vini took the next step.

Rodrygo is currently taking his next step. Why not trust him? We already play KCM+V anyways....

We need to be patient. There won’t be an official comunicado for another few weeks at least.

I hope Florentino gives us some red meat quickly when the window opens, but it might be a long summer

If the Tchouameni transfer comes to fruition and if we have a real chance to land Bellingham in a year would love the club to do it. Maybe an unpopular opinion - that gives us four potential world class players as they develop but there is also a chance at least one of them doesn’t keep progressing, injury struggles, etc. Worst case all four end of being world class we have the difficult decision at some point to offload one for a big sale where we can invest wherever the need is in the future.

This should truly be the year (hopefully) we properly transition from KCM.

All we need is cover for Benz. Ron fits the bill. if by some miracle we can offload Mariano and Jovic, getting Ron to rotate with Benz makes the most sense.

    4-3-3

    Vinny Benz/Ron Rodrygo

    or 4-4–1-1

    Ron
    Benz
    Vinny (Modric/Camavinga) (Casemerio/Tchoumeni)Fede

I’m fine with Rodrygo getting more minutes as a starter next season. Hazard is not going anywhere and he’s likely to rotate in more wether we like it or not.

Ship out Asensio and sell Kubo and bring in Doku or something like that.

Let’s not go for Lewandowski or Gnabry. Just because we have money let’s not spend it unwisely.

Same as Vini when he started, look at Vin now maybe some patience and belief, he only turned it on in the past 2/3 months but he has always shown that he has the quality, IMO he needs continuity, those were some big goals and assists whether early or late they were crucial, with no Kylian i prefer to give Rodrygo that space rather than Gnabry

Not me, indisciplined and always injured, not for Madrid, he can go play his 14 games a season elsewhere

If 'Ron fits the bill" why not Lewa? considering "just because we have money lets not spend it unwisely", do you have inside info that Ron will come for free and slash his wages drastically?, make that make sense to me please

Lewa will probably cost 50m if not more to pry from Bayern. He’s going to want at least 3 year contract and will probably not want to rotate with Benz. So 4-4-1-1 is the only option with him.

I’m speculating here, but Ron would probably be able to force a move from United if he wanted to and could come on a free or very little. Yeah, one/two year wages would be high but we would be able to move on from him quick and position ourselves for Haaland in two years or gives flexibility to sign another player if they emerge. He’s played with Benz before and would score at least 15 goals next season.

I am patient with Rodrygo, lol it’s not like I’m saying he needs to sold or loaned, I just don’t see him as a RW long term and I’m certainly not comfortable going into next season with him as a starter there.

You’re not convinced by Gnabry that’s fair, I rate him and I think we’d be much better signing him( if we can get a good deal ) offloading Asensio and have Rodrygo be a back up to both him and Vinicius.

I agree that Gnabry doesn't jump off the page - none of the options out there really do for me. Salah is a perfect fit, but Hazard deal left me scarred and I would be afraid to pull that trigger. It's tough - Benzema is playing out of his mind, but turns 35 next year. He won't keep this up forever, so seems incredibly risky to waste a year of this peak without getting him the help that might put us over the top.

Trusting Rodrygo to develop into Vini is a big gamble - I don't see Rodrygo's ceiling anywhere near Vini's TBH. Even back to his time at Santos, I didn't see it. Vini's raw talent jumped off the page in Brazil, Rodrygo struck me as a "tidy" player. I don't know if we'll ever see what his true potential is playing on the RW either, it's just not natural for him.

Fair enough gentlemen we'll agree to disagree, at this time i prefer to see Rodrygo given that spot rather than Gnabry, it's not that i don't rate Gnabry, it's just that i don't see him as a better option

Fair, we disagree, for me our RW needs strengthening.

nope I actually rate Gnbry and think he’d improve us. Said the entire season that our RW needs to be strengthen.

Just as some of us thought, there are rumours that PSG and Campos desperately want Tchouameni, and Monaco are happy to listen to them as they will only ramp up the transfer fee required.

If Mbappe's desire is that Tchouameni joins PSG, we have no idea of the wages and transfer fee they will offer.

This is beginning to turn into a bit of a transfer circus fight vs. PSG...
