even so, FIFA didn't really do anything to Qatar's bid after evidence show that they were slaving the construction workers. I think FIFA will turn their cheek on the whole situation with Iran.

Italy has been confirmed by FIFA , that they have zero chances to replace Ecuador for next WC.

FIFA stands that confederation spots in the WC, is above any other thing, and if whatever team gets excluded for whichever reasons, they will get replaced by another team from the same Confederation.

So if Iran gets excluded, it will be replaced by another AFC team.

Or for the case being ( Castillo case) in case of Ecuador, only another Conmebol team will get that WC spot. As how things are, could be Colombia or Chile.

    https://elcomercio.pe/deporte-total...n-de-ecuador-seleccion-chilena-ec-cl-noticia/

The only other option, is to have Conmebol lose the interconfed playoff spot in favour of AFC, giving Peru the 4th direct qualifying spot (in place of Ecuador).

Logically it makes sense. But we'll have to see...I am still skeptical about FIFA as..."politics" may once again influence into something that will be considered controversial no matter the result that we end up with.

I agree 100% on your post.

Honestly speaking, although I want it to happen, I'm not any confident it will.
As posted before, (I think it was somewhere in this same forum), "hopes are for free .......

does Chile have a coach? I think I read both Chile and Colombia want a coach but he waiting to hear what happens with Ecuador to chose haha....

Also who ever you guys want please keep him.... last time we fought over a coach we both got eliminated by 2 pretty shit teams.

I mean Qatar had labor slaves building stadiums and they didn't get knocked out of hosting the WC. Kicking Ecuador over this BS would be a joke.

At present times, we are very close to sign Eduardo Berizzo (Paraguay's former coach and also Bielsa's first assistant in the process leaded by Bielsa in our NT), whom was our prefered option before we hired R.Rueda, but at the time being he wasn't available (Paraguay beat us on signing him first). When R.Rueda decided to "abandon ship" with us, Berizzo was still unavailable, so we hired Lasarte instead.
News regarding him as coach for our future NT, may come today, or at most for next Monday.

What happens in the case vs. Ecuador, doesn't change anything, as he is whom will lead the next process for our NT.

    it’s not happening….

any way new coach…. Now they are saying it’s Pekermans assistant who was out of work since we fired Pekerman. He coached a crap club in Peru….. now potentially us?

that better be a joke. I mean at least it’s not Bolillo, Maturana or Reyes.

but like why not just get Osorio for free or give Gamero the same offer they are giving this guy with 0 experience.

Look so far only Chile has stepped forward with Peru invited; we are naturally passive save for confirmation of if he was really born in Colombia or not.

As far as I can tell, all sides are gathering information to support their case by a deadline or certain time frame to escalate things months prior to the world cup.

shouldn't this be settled by the New Zealand game on the 5th?

I mean only way that doesn't matter is if Chile leapfrogs Peru which would be BS.

Peru should obviously win but still. Why even risk that. If instead they just remove Ecuador like Colombia hopes. We are 5th... we didn't show up the playoff and should be eliminated so New Zealand attends. They won't make New Zealand play the game twice.

I think this is going to end up that SA loses the spot if Ecuador some how gets robbed of their ticket. The memes for this will be hilarious tho :)

It's not fair to New Zealand not knowing who is their opponent. Because if they decide a week before new Zealand that Peru Will not play in repechaje and Colombia goes, that changes game strategy for New Zealand.

June 5th being the deadline for Ecuador means that we likely won't hear anything until the last week; surely things are gonna be held to the last minute if Ecuador STILL for some reason haven't gone forward with what they need. This is likely them gathering as much as possible for his case.

You got the wrong match up and how it's set up; New Zealand is playing a single match against Costa Rica in Qatar whereas the playoff match (also single and also in Qatar) for South America (currently Peru) is a day before in the same stadium.

Regardless, I do feel very sorry for him...Ecaudor should not have put him in this situation whether or not he is legitimately by law Ecaudorian...

Ecuadorians are not taking accountability they are just finger pointing Chile for the lawsuit...

But I find it highly irresponsible because I think this has to do with the corruption of the people that consulted Byron Castillo to get to this point. I'm sure this could of been avoided but people misinforming him, manipulation and now the whole PR situation with FIFA.

I also feel bad for the guy, because he should just focus on futbol, not politics. But this happens to the most unluckiest athletes, and even happens in American sports. So not exclusive to one country.

I mean how is it that hard to prove he is Ecuadorian...

I blame their federation and their country because if this was an issue in youth levels wtf didn't they nationalize him.

I mean a guy who just stops playing during a game and starts to cry. Hopefully he has family and is staying the fk away from twitter and social media. Anything that happens to him at that point is on the Ecuadorian federation. Its 3rd world not 5th world

That's a lot of young players, many of whom have never appeared before. I like it.

Complaining about the number is silly. They're playing one game, in Europe, the week after every league ends. Why bring more players across the pond for them not to play any minutes under a coach who won't be here 6 months from now?

The real thing to complain about here is that that moron Velez got all of this right a week ago. Certain members of the media and the Fed are too close together, and it's killing Colombia's progress.

Start of a new generation and you bring 0 subs?

Positives no Ospina or Vargas. You can’t retire Ospina to bring someone a year younger.

the bs play offs effecting the NT. This is 1 week. Stop the play offs and bring the actual good domestic league guys. Our shit league that never wins anything because it burns out players going an extra month also hurting our NT

7 defenders And 5 mfs… what type of formation are we playing?

Kevin Velasco is a strange one, he's fast and good ball control. but he's small, can't really cross the ball and his shot is weird.

    Also temperamental

What the hell are you talking about?

Yairo plays CM for Colombia all the time and Eder Balanta has played DM for years now. Every single position is at least 3 deep other than LB, but Velasco plays there, too.

Stop fixating on this stupid complaint you make every single callup and look at who is actually on the roster.

And no new generation starts without an actual coach under contract. This is a fluff match to make some money and you know that.

We didn’t score for like 9 games…. Idiot coach wouldn’t call subs or someone gets Covid or injured or red carded.

this is a friendly to start off a new cycle after failing miserably. At this point a roster this small a fed decision?

I mean maybe you don’t care if we lose or tie 0-0 to This crap team but some of us do
