Romano picked up on this saying talks are ongoing between Arsenal and Sao Paulo. Fee is around €3m as they risk losing him on a free. There are a couple videos on youtube now (the internet works fast). Could definitely be another left-footed right winger to backup Saka. Speaking of which...Chris Wheatley noted that Pepe has signed with a new agent. Which could be a step towards him leaving in the summer.
Read a few days ago that the staff is very unhappy with Pepe and will definitely sell him this summer if any decent offer comes.
Tbf I'd have given up on playing for Arsenal if I was him as well. It was clear it was over the game after the Wolves game.
Based on league games only this season: G/90. A/90. G+A/90 Kane 0.44 0.24 0.68 Son. 0.67. 0.22. 0.89 Salah. 0.73. 0.43. 1.16 Mane. 0.5. 0.07. 0.57 Linked Players Gabriel. 0.42. 0.42. 0.84 Osimhen. 0.63. 0.1. 0.73 Nkunku. 0.68. 0.44. 1.12 Nunez. 1.18. 0.18. 1.36 Gakpo. 0.59. 0.59. 1.18 No Chance Vlahovic. 0.73. 0.09. 0.82 Haaland. 1.04. 0.4. 1.44 As you can see, neither Kane or Mane have exceeded 0.7 goals plus assists in league games this season. Of the players credibly linked to Arsenal Osimhen barely exceeds 0.7 goals plus assists per 90 and Nunez and Gakpo play in non big 5 leagues, so we don’t know how to project those numbers. Even Vlahovic isn’t that much over the 0.7 number.
https://insidefutbol.com/2022/05/13...uggests-player-could-be-arsenal-bound/559330/ Another rumor to consider.
His career really got derailed when Ronaldo showed up. Hard to know what to make of him in the aftermath, but he’ll be 29 early next season. Pass.
São Paulo have accepted Arsenal’s €3.5m offer for Marquinhos. Arsenal’s bid can be ‘considered a gesture of goodwill’, aiming at a good relationship for future business from Edu Gaspar, as the player could have left for free in July. I can't recall the last Argentinean to succeed at EPL besides Aguero. Di Maria was so underwhelming too. Lamela bleh.
From what I read, Marquinhos signed a 5 year contract when he was 16, which is allowed by Brazil. But FIFA only allows 16 yo to sign 3 year contracts. So he could be available for free but it might take a legal battle. 3m is a pretty minimal fee either way. Rumored that he will go on the US tour and then they will decide if a loan would be better for his development. Dybala missed 3 months due to a knee injury last season and has missed time due to muscle injuries on 4 separate occasions this season. That's a worry for a guy who has played in Serie A for a decade and would be trying to adapt to the EPL. Signing Jesus and Dybala would take a huge chunk of the wage bill and still not provide an aerial threat, I don't see the club signing both.
Kieran Tierney has featured in just 57% of the Premier League games Arsenal have played since he signed.— Orbinho (@Orbinho) May 14, 2022 Aaron Hickey soon come. We can't depend on Terminal Tiereny.
Having two Scottish LB's could help to make sure one of them is fresh before and after international breaks. Or maybe Scotland will find a way to play Hickey at RB and Tierney at LB for 270 minutes each across 3 friendlies in 7 days. I like having depth and two-footed versatility at fullback. Tomi and Nuno both fit that description as well. My preference would be to kick Cedric to the curb this summer and keep Tavares around to develop, but if Cedric can't be moved, maybe a loan to Bologna? Arsenal seem to like what they do with fullbacks. I wonder if Norton-Cuffy will get integrated into the first team or if they feel he needs another year on loan.
IDK. Devil’s advocacy: if this kid is any good isn’t 3.5 million a relative pittance? And if it ensures we get him instead of some other club snapping him up on a free? I guess we won’t really know whether to praise Edu or pillory him until we see how Marquinos works out. Ps. Assuming of course this rumor is true at all.
Italian media is claiming that we have agreed a 20-25m euro deal for Hickey. https://www.calcionapoli24.it/calci...omercato-accordo-bologna-arsenal-n518699.html
With the rumors that Marquinhos is done, that Arsenal have negotiated terms with Gabriel, and now this rumor, it sounds like Edu is doing his work early. Something of an anomaly for Arsenal.
yeah, it's just good business sense. 3M is not break or break for arsenal and keeping friendly relationship there is just a good idea, especially with the new qualification rule being favourable there.
coloccini, if i recall correctly, had a solid run at newcastle. not sure how much that counts for successful.
