You guys remember Andy Casquete? His career was negatively impacted because of false allegations. He was linked to City but after the allegations surfaced they dropped out. Who knows how his career would have played out had he not been falsely accused.
https://www.ecuagol.com/noticias/ec...que-alexander-dominguez-es-colombiano/183409/ The FEF should sue the **** out of all of them.
Welp, whatever the case is, I hope we’ve learned our lesson. And either become incredibly good at hiding and disposing of evidence or put some stronger regulations in place to avoid it. los chilenos andan bien ardidos lmao I really have enjoyed how much hate this team has received from all the competing countries in conmebol (sans Brazil and Argentina). We are doing something right and it’s scaring them. Que la altura, el anti fútbol, se desinflan, and now they’re trying to say the government isn’t the end all be all for determining who is Ecuadorian and who is not. Desesperados 100%. 12 years is what Chileans will have to wait to try and see another WC match lol
Actually I think we should return the favor even for the smallest thing. They are even trying to intimidate Galindez with death threats.
Argentinian fans were pretty salty after the tie against them in el monumental. They talked a lot of shit too. Colombians, Peruvians, and Uruguayans talked trash too but that's not uncommon. Brazilians were the ones who mostly recognized that Ecuador has a good team. The Chilean football federation is looking for a scapegoat. They're looking to claim that a world cup berth was stolen from them. That's the narrative they want out in the media. They made some bad decisions and they don't want to acknowledge the fact they simply weren't good enough. Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, and Peru are the righful members of conmebol who deserve to represent South America in the World Cup. Their media is a joke. They talk about who they'll face in octavos. You can't make it up lmaoo
Our Federation is spineless,so many dirty tricks against our team have happened and they never even said a word, don’t expect too much,it’s why They do these things to us.
Very interesting to see the talent some teams have in segunda categoria. Onfre Mejia is a familiar name in that team.9 de Octubre had Danny Luna, Cabezas, Walberto Caicedo in segunda categoria. Im sure some of those guys would be ballers in 1st division if given the chance.
To be fair, we know how these proceedings go - FIFA will defer to local authorities on almost all legal matters as there is no standing for FIFA to be an arbiter in this matter. No amount of screaming or outlandish defensive tactics can change what is ahead...FIFA will "investigate" which basically means they'll wait for Ecuadorian courts to once again produce the same legal documents that were already approved, notarized, stamped, and added to the public record before deferring back to Ecuador. It happened once with Castillo in the same exact context with Paraguay (if I'm not mistaken), and Ecuador made sure to clear the claims in court and get official legal precedent set in this case to make sure they were safe. FEF played it smart to keep calm, cool, and collected and maintain the same posture as before, which is "we're good- nothing is f***ed". As an ESPN article notes: "This, then, is a case with different characteristics from that of Cabrera. Bolivia's error regarding Cabrera's case was an administrative oversight, while Ecuador can point to last year's investigation with respect to Castillo's situation. Moreover, while Cabrera fell down on lack of residency time, the same does not apply to Castillo. He has played his entire career in Ecuador, and is clearly a product of Ecuadorian football."
Yea, I think this was inevitable. The news gained way too much traction and screen time for FIFA to just brush it off. I even read an article that had this fun bit. Covering our asses from every angle, buckle in boys, this will be resolved within a Month. Fifa has allegedly reached out to Peru for their position on the matter as well. So worst case scenario this might see Peru go through automatically and Chile or even Colombia play repechaje. "El abogado apuntó que Ecuador tiene como respaldo “una sentencia ejecutoriada que ratifica que el jugador es ecuatoriano” y que "si se llega a determinar que el jugador adulteró documentos, entendería que FIFA tendría que sancionar al jugador, no a la federación" https://www.deportes13.cl/la-roja/a...no-corre-ningun-riesgo-de-perderse-el-mundial
FIFA opening the investigation is an official proceeding that is a formality - and nothing else. The rules work that way. They must defer to local authorities on the matter as this is not a case that FIFA can dictate since there is no jurisdiction. The documentation has been validated and marked legal by the Registro Civil, which is the authority on these issues in Ecuador. Look at what happens when teams file complaints against referees for red cards, goals allowed (that shouldn't have been) - in recent memory, I don't see an example of giving points or overturning. With the exception of Bolivia where there was a clear administrative error, it's not that common to see FIFA overturning things.
Figured it was something along these lines. I was just crossing my fingers that the rumors were true that Fifa and conmebol had been briefed on the issue during the original investigation and had given us the all clear to call him. This I would of thought would mean fifa would just brush this off and tell them its a settled matter.
I think his career is now ruined. Unless he nothing comes out of it and he does amazing in the WC. https://www.futbolecuador.com/site/...egible-para-reemplazarla-en-qatar-2022/145447
I think he'll be fine. He's a good player and will get a solid salary in Ecuador if nothing comes of the final ruling. Remember, guys who have had doping records even get a second chance. Albeit, at smaller teams. He's young.
I think this could affect his ceiling. I would be furious if someone tarnished my record and would cause management to never promote me or make a more prestigious firm think twice. Chile's federation is around 4 million in the red, and during their press conference yesterday hinted at what the prize money would be for going to Qatar (10 million) and what it could do for them. Their press is also asking the federation to look at Gustavo Quinteros as hire ASAP, the moment Fifa's decision is announced. What do you guys think Peru's position will be?
On another note,I really think the FEF needs a team of capable lawyers, this dude that’s representing them is opening his mouth and giving people false impressions.Chile seems to be too comfortable in its attack and giving their crying credibility,at one point we need to counter this and not let them get the upper hand in the public opinion.
They had an argentino lawyer in debate fútbol tonight for the first half of the show. Pretty much states FIFA is not above a sovereign state. If our government says he is ecuatoriano, they can’t do anything.
What the hell is wrong with some Ecuadorians? I am constantly ready things like "Esto pasa por confiar en Barcelona, que bueno que les pase, ahora tendran que devolver dinero de premios de libertadores, y campeonato nacional." Thoroughly disappointed.
