Thank you, Thank you. I started to listen to that podcast and in the first 2 mins Rebecca said why don't we just do away with changing the clocks altogether? Et Voila a day or two later the US Senate does just that! I knew she was good, but didn't know she was prescient.

Seriously I'm a big big fan of Lady Lowe. And I really hope my reading of the tea leaves is 180 degrees wrong, about her lady replacements on NBC this week.

p.s. I'll try to come back to listen to the rest of that podcast later. I've heard about the Highbury Squad lady but never really heard her much.

It happened again! I should've known better.

I was watching the end of today's postmatch coverage and had 5-10 mins to go when I paused it to do something else. When I came back Roku was ominously in it's screensaver mode and when I pressed play up came some random NBC live channel sportstalk show with Paul Burmeister.

OK, I thought I'll go back and restart the match coverage and fast forward to the end and watch the last 10 mins. Nope! When I tried to do that it says "Replay Available Soon". And then I realized that even if it was available they would've chopped off the studio postgame stuff and the replay would end right after the FT whistle.

Seriously WHY do they have to do this?

Why not just let me keep the stream paused indefinitely, just as my DVR would let me do?

Why not let the replay contain the same full show that you broadcasted live, including the pre/post-game studio stuff?

Why not provide the replay immediately after the live broadcast is finished?

Sorry to bitch so much about this... it just seems so dumb, customer-unfriendly, and a step backwards... several steps actually.

I'm just about finished listening to that HighburySquad show. Thanks again to @unclesox

Nice to see the other side of Rebecca Lowe, the unfiltered side. BUT I'm not sure I really wanted to hear all her indignant, opinionated banter. I think I might like the NBC-broadcast-TV Rebecca more than the unfiltered-Internet Rebecca. Knocks her off the pedestal a bit.

I really really love what she does as the face of the EPL in USA, and I truly hope that now she & her hubby have become US citizens, that she sticks to that role, at least through the NBC rights contract, if not beyond? I know that probably won't happen but...

Caught Cara Banks again. She’s good. And really assured. So I looked up her background and found out she’s a veteran presenter on Golf Channel. And seems to know her English footy too!

I’ve been missing MIB shows this year since I generally can’t watch em live and since NBC took them off TV and made them harder to find and watch on replay.

I’d really like to watch today’s show with Jesse Marsch, so I’d like to ask y’all if you know how best I can find it in a day or two or three from now?

    TIA

It's on Peacock, so shouldn't it be in their archives?

    You'd think so.

Yes it should. And yes it is! Along with all of this seasons shows. :)

But I swear the last couple of times I’ve gone looking for amI be a month or two back, they were nowhere to be found on Peacock.

I think someone must have fixed something. Maybe they were Reading this forum? ;)

1 minute into 2T of Southampton-Arsenal the Peacock stream starts showing ads, and then says "Coverage will resume shortly". We lost about 4 mins of the game until it was fixed as abruptly as it was broken.

What causes this? Can't they come up with some more friendly or knowing message like "technical difficulties"?

Ah, the wonderful new world of streaming.

Does anyone know if Peacock will have all the Premier League games in Spanish next season. I heard they're significantly expxnding their Dpanish language content in the fall.

The Kentucky Derby headwear is looking a tad silly on the PL crew today. With the exception of Robbie Earle who looks beautifully Rude Boy in his pork pie.

    (We’ll find/post photo later)

NBC's production team still don't seem to understand fans who are die-hard for their team.

Today seconds after FT of the Arsenal-Everton match they switched to the exciting finale at Manchester. I think they did this for every other match actually. And I'm pretty sure this is NBC's doing, rather than the EPL's world feed folks.

I was already keeping an eye on that City-Villa match via the Goal Rush stream on my tablet. If I'd wanted to stop watching my own team's match and post-match, I could've easily switched channels to watch the title being clinched. But I did not want that.

I chose to watch my team's match primarily, even though exciting stuff was happening in many other games. And this being the last match, it's always nice to see players & staff reactions, post-match interviews, laps of honor, etc.

In years past we used to get this "extended coverage" (on NBC and before that on Fox). But something changed in the last several years where the powers-that-be generally switch away from games almost instantly. I remember the same thing happened on the final day of last season, and maybe the one prior.

This continues to be an annoyance to people who are primarily fans of one team rather than the league in general.

p.s. They could remedy this somewhat if their "full event replay" showed the complete coverage of each match including the post-match "activities". But no... when I went to the replay, there's exactly the same cut-off at FT, or in this case the switch to Man City stadium.

It sounds like they took a page from Fox Soccer Channel. "I'm Christian Miles in the LA studio and it looks like we're all ready for kickoff. Let's go to your match announcers..." right at the exact moment of kickoff. As soon as the whistle blows, the FSC host is back with absolutely no breathing room.

This is probably very minor, but I just saw that NBC (Comcast) is shutting down Olympic Channel on September 30th.

Although is this part of the NBC family? It seems to be, but there's also some sort of global channel. There could be a domino effect if more stuff gets pushed to CNBC and USA. It's almost like killing off NBCSN might come back to bite them.

NBCSN had very low carriage fees, especially in comparison with USA Network, despite the decent ratings of Nascar and NHL playoffs.

I'm too lazy to research the peacock tiers, but I believe my Comcast included "free" peacock is the basic tier. Does premium include more content or just fewer ads?

Pretty sure you need premium to get EPL

You are right. I ended up looking it up.
    Free: Some shows and channels.
Premium 4.99: more shows and features, epl!
Plus 9.99: same content but more features and ad free.

Fortunately Xfinity includes the middle tier, which has EPL. I knew I had watched at least one or two matches on it, but I wasn't sure if the next tier had more matches or studio programs. But the two paid tiers appear the same content wise. I never tested it much because most of the time a compelling math was on tv, but I did watch during a couple of the peacock exclusive windows.

Originally, The Tonight Show and Late Night were supposed to be released on Peacock Premium Plus in primetime.

COVID had other plans and I don't think that ever happened. If it would have, it would definitely have been a big benefit. Sigh.

I looked at the 1st weekend for the PL. It says --

    Matchweek 1
    Friday 5 August

3pm: Crystal Palace v Arsenal – USA Network – WATCH LIVE

    Saturday 6 August
7:30am: Fulham v Liverpool – Watch live on Peacock Premium
AFC Bournemouth v Aston Villa – Watch live on Peacock Premium
Leeds v Wolves – Watch live on Peacock Premium
Newcastle v Nottingham Forest – Watch live on Peacock Premium
Spurs v Southampton – Watch live on Peacock Premium
12:30pm: Everton v Chelsea – USA Network – WATCH LIVE

    Sunday 7 August
9am: Leicester v Brentford – Watch live on Peacock Premium
9am: Man Utd v Brighton – Watch live on Peacock Premium
11:30am: West Ham v Man City – Watch live on Peacock Premium

Does this mean no games on NBC going forward?
What's happening on USA Network at 10 am Saturday and Sunday morning?

This is my understanding as well. And no point subscribing to "Plus" since ads or no ads doesn't really impact the EPL telecasts.

Wow! They are really trying to get people to subscribe to Peacock. In a weird way I'm almost glad because I have always felt that I wasn't quite getting my money worth with Peacock since most of the games I wanted to watch last season were on NBC or USA.

Though there is a match next week on NBC. Plus USA will show both Sunday games and the Monday game, as well as the early Saturday match and a 10:00 ET Saturday match next week. So looks like week 1 is a bit of an anomaly.

USA has the Women's Open Championship (British Open) in the morning and NBC picks up coverage at noon (both days).

Peter Drury seems to have replaced Arlo White as NBC‘s main commentator this season? Wow! I didn’t hate Arlo like some people did but Peter is an upgrade… one of the very best.
