Since when did TUDN start showing MLS matches? Both the Charlotte FC/FC Cincinnati and the Sporting KC/Real Salt Lake matches are on TUDN this week. I was under the impression that Fox Sports and ESPN had the rights to games along with UniMas, not TUDN.
TUDN has shown MLS for at least two years to my recollection. Both TUDN and UniMas are owned / operated by Univision, and Univision has been a longtime broadcast partner for MLS . . . so I'm not sure how Univision divides their games between TUDN and UniMas, but it's kinda similar to how ESPN would have some games on ESPN2, etc.
TUDN used to be called UniVision Deportes, they rebranded the channel. This was to expand their footprint and reach into Mexico. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/...and its multi, expand the platform into Mexico.
I was going to watch today, but then I saw Charlotte was on TUDN only. It sucks living in Raleigh and trying to watch. They were OTA on channel 5, or 50 which I get on hulu. Now that USFL has started they have been relegated to a different OTA channel that I don't get
The way I understand it is like this: Univision is an OTA channel comparable to ABC. They show a lot of shows, some of which are sports. TUDN is a pay channel comparable to ESPN. It shows sports 24/7. On occasion, something is simulcast on both channels.
