What the heck? I thought he was out for many months? This would be great if he get a few games in end of season.
Since Dike's injury, West Brom have played 6, lost 5, drawn 1, scored 1, conceded 10. 13th-place (!) West Brom is currently hosting 17th-place Swansea on ESPN+.
Isn't there some way we can rush him back into action? We've done it before, and yes, that worked poorly, but who's to say it won't work this time?
I suspect you're being sarcastic here, but I'm not sure. I wish he could be rushed back because Dike is one of my two soccer boyfriends (Aaronson being the other) and I retain hope that he'll be a really stellar striker in years to come. The USMNT could certainly use more than just Pefok in good form at the position.
Reyna was out for like 5 months for his hamstring injury--and then got injured again shortly after his return. 2 months seems like a godsend in comparison.
Hamstring injuries suck. At least as an amateur, it takes a LONG time to feel fully confident again. Presumably Dike has much better support and help getting to that point than I did as a nobody who was not especially good at soccer. Here by the way is a fairly insubstantial (in terms of hard news) write-up of a journalist's comment about how WB would like to have him back in uniform. It seems pretty obvious that a team would prefer that its injured players not be injured! But also, I suppose, a measure of the interest in his performance. https://www.givemesport.com/87978113-west-brom-baggies-desperate-over-62-ace-amid-distinct-problem
West Brom manager Steve Bruce admitted he is hoping to have Daryl Dike back on the training field in "some shape next week". Dike has not played since Jan. 22 due to a hamstring injury. #USMNT— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) March 4, 2022
Back in training: The boss has confirmed that @DarylDike is back in full training. 💪— West Bromwich Albion (@WBA) March 10, 2022
oh... nice. I heard "back in training", which could've been him working on the side. back in "FULL" training has much better implications.
Really hoping his hamstring doesn't become a regular issue... I want to see him out there helping Albion clime back into the playoff hunt but if he's being rushed back too soon to justify the price tag I'll be big mad.
Take it easy with him, they already lost the chance at promotion he was supposed to help with. Bummer but no reason to rush him now.
Big win today if they can get points at Bristol on Sat. and Dike is ready to go in April it could be fun.
Some updates: Also, Dike's former manager at Barnsley, Valentin Ismael has reportedly shown interest in adding Dike on loan at Besiktas. Ismael was fired at West Brom before Dike was up to speed there.— Larry Henry Jr (@lhenry019) March 31, 2022 Larry deleted a tweet that said Daryl was supposed to play for the U23s over the break, but didn't because of an issue.

And he's likely out of the mix for the WC squad too, I just don't see him playing back into form before November. I assume WC rosters will be due by October sometime.
I think he still has time - especially if his competition continues to struggle. The good news is he’s likely the kind of player Steve Bruce loves. The bad news is he plays for Steve Bruce.
