Subbed off in the 90th minute, still 0-0. And yet, could wind up the best performance by a YA today - failing to score against a third division side.

Well, we could wait for the opening whistle, but nah ... PROMOTE THE MAN! Starting in his league debut.

First man subbed off. Doesn't seem to have been a great debut. Still scoreless.

Got a 6.4 on sofascore, good for 3rd worst on the team.

Their game against Hearts will be on Paramount + today. Don’t know if Chris will start.

What is the take from those who regularly watched Mueller at Orlando?

In my (admittedly partial highlights viewing), he seemed to be on a really nice growth path at Orlando, with a peak (?) during MLS is back making some big progress. Seemed to always have good instincts for goal and making right play.

But then last season- he seems (from afar) to have a very flat season and lost his starting place? A step backwards.

Thanks for more context and if you think this was right move.

Mueller is starting the Derby. I guess this is a 3 man frontline.

ive noticed a similar pattern with many fringe usmnters over the last decade at least

grind super hard...get your chance....play well ...get discarded

not sure how mueller took it....but he killed it in the first friendly

then subbed a few minutes then discarded

gotta be hard psychologically to know that your path to the big time is basically a dead end....

seen a big dip in form for many other players in similar circumstances over the last few cycles

Orlando had turned down offers from Belgium. Basically, he had to waste a season in MLS to take a less lucrative offer in Scotland. Denied transfers can impact a player's performance.

I remember that with Ethan Finlay.

Mueller is a limited player. He played “well” for the Nats against second stringers of minnows. He got discarded? Whose place should he take? He didn’t get his trophy and just gave up? Wow. That is one hell of weak minded player. Must be MLS and MLS’s fault. Jeez louise. First sign of trouble, doesn’t get what he wants he is toast, LOL.

well being frozen out of national team AND having your club turn down transfer offers to europe all the while must be tough

I agree that the oly way to handle it is let your play do the talking but I can see why form might dip in those circumstances....its natural..especially if the plaer thinks they arent getting a fair shake

plus i think not having dike around also might have had something to do with it as well

his best season was dikes first..not a coincidence imo

My lord, the Scottish league is pure chaos. I was watching a bit of the second half and everyone is just running around the field trying to smash anything that moves. It's like watching RB Salzburg, but with rugby players.

Chaos is a great description. Just flipped on the game in the 85th. Hibs defender lays off a back pass to his keeper. unfortunately it was to the wrong side of him and the GK had to make a last second just above the PK spot to make sure it’s not an own goal. Indirect FK and once the ball was touched, Yoj seriously had 6 guys diving to block the shot. It worked. It was deflected to midfield!

He subbed on in the 64th, trailing Rangers 2-0. Sands on the Rangers bench.

Subbed on in the 65th, and scored the insurance goal - reacted well to a failed clearance and pounced.
